If the water flowed out of your brush head, then the water hasn't frozen in the van. Sticking a heater in the back isn't going to solve that problem.

I think you will find that the house you cleaned is freezing inside and your water froze on their windows. I've had it twice. The first time was a conservatory that had no heating and the other was a house that's boiler had broken.

Although I used a lot more water on the house to wash and rinse, which quickly froze up again, when windows defrosted after the boiler was repaired they were fine as was the conservatory. If you are new to wfp something like this can become a source of panic. It will always look worse than it is.

If its too cold I bypass houses with conservatories and return when the weather warms up a little. All of my work is very close to home.

Some have put an electric element into their tanks to warm the water up a bit which will speed the process of cleaning on very cold windows, but the chances are that it will freeze soon after anyway. There are others who have installed gas and diesel on demand water heaters to heat the water as they use it, but freezing cold windows can crack.

Nearly all homes are centrally heated these days, although with the price of gas we may see more fozen windows in the future.

Our water is heated to 40c / 45c and it still froze on the glass this morning did 3 houses and every single pane of glass froze. I think The wind chill of -7 played a big part.

to stop pump, hoses, poles and water freezing overnight in the van on freezing nights i use an oil filled radiator left on all night.costs about £1-50 a night.in fact ive just put mine in as its forecast -5 here overnight.

i can lock van doors with heater in van and i use an extension lead through my letterbox! ;D ;D ;D

radiator was about £45 from argos 2 years ago.

and when the water eventually melts and dries the windows will be fine
