Can I use my water fed pole system to supply water to my pressure washer or will ruin the pump..thanks .....
-
Best thing to do is connect straight to the tank, most pressure washers have a self priming pump capable of pumping up water from a still source.
You may find your tank has a plugged outlet around one of the bottom corners. Remove the plug and insert a relevant fitting for your hose.

It depends upon your pressure washer. Some of the smaller ones can suck their own water, so all you'll need is maybe a manifold on your tank connection. I use one like this, it can supply my wfp pumps and pressure washer......

Remember most wfp pumps are only good for about 4.5 litres per min. I have bigger pressure washer which does not suck water and blows out 15 litres per min, so for that i use one of these low pressuer high volume pumps...........(bottom of the page)

I think the couple we have are the FL 43S.

As I've mentioned before (years ago) purified water is very aggressive and eats copper in no time at all. Not really sure why but it does!
So me personally I wouldn't run pure through a pressure washer.

I've put pure through my machine plenty of times without issue - - was yours an cheaper Chinese one maybe?

Good question this,
i think the op wants to know of anyone running a pressure washer will knacker the pump ie. will it still draw water past the pump without ruining with the pump turned off ?
my Pf system is difficault to access so i would not be able to by-pass the shurflo pumps but easily connect
after and wondered myself if i could a use pressure washer without blowing the shurflo apart

A full wfp tank won't do much pressure washing!
My pressure washer draws from a tank @17lpm - I have a 650L WFP tank - that would give me only 38 minutes of pressure washing time before re-filling!
I have used my wfp tank on occasion for this on very small jobs,.. but its not practical to work like this every day IMO.

Two questions.
Is the tank full of pure?
Do you want to use the tank as a buffer to supply the PW?
If it's the second then just bypass the RO or DI and feed direct from the tank, if the customer has a water supply then run a feed to your tank to keep topped up.

cheers Nat i carry 1000 ltrs,
for me it wasn't for everyday use but the odd job where i could not get a mains supply or i required
a quick blast with the pressure washer rather than scrubbing

Just drop a filtered hose into your tank.
1000 litres won't last that long though and if you top up time wise it will have to be tap water which will have to be drained from your tank once complete.
Seems like a bit of a pain to be true.

And to think that some on here use a wheeley bin of less than 200L !!!

Thats fine if its constantly filling,..

Thats the idea!

Thats the idea!
Not always possible though.....
Wheelie bin's are OK with a constant feed but give around 15 minutes constant supply without. Even with a constant supply they often empty and you have to wait for supply to catch up.

I couldn't agree with you more. (apart from the 15 minutes because that will depend on the size of the pump)
But the OP was asking if he could use the waser tank that he already has in his van, the answer to that is yes.
The rest is 'How long is a piece of string' Does he want to do a pathway out side a Terrace or the one outside Tesco's?

No mine was not a cheap Chinese copy, I would not buy cheap anything. Can't be bothered to get into an argument as last time I spoke about this I ended up getting banned from this forum! Just google and read about purified wate, it eats copper, don't know why but I have had it eating through copper fittings
-
Thats why I recomended useing it direct from the tank and not through a RO or DI.

Hi all thanks for the replies its a petrol washer was thinking the pump would draw the water better from the tank it will be tap water in the
Tank and not pure i was thinking with the hose being long it would now draw water that good

Copper contains a lot of minerals.
For some reason filtered water attacks these and the copper breaks
down.
One theory is that the water is trying to replace the minerials removed during filtration.
So as easy clean points out filtered water should not be used on copper
fittings.
