Scold me if you must for I may of indulged in a little naughtiness.
Over the last 11 years or so I have worked my present round that is comprised of 84% 8 weekly customers. And, even though I clean this 84% of the round at a regular 8 weekly interval, every time I'm confronted with a customer i am invariably whished adieu with a cursory, see you in 6 weeks Nick, to which I reply, actually, it's every 8 weeks.
Now, I have persisted in this little scenario but, to no avail. They consistently conform to the 6 weekly mantra. I can't think of an exception.
So, in the middle of last year, guess what, l surrendered to conformity and capitulated.
In one fell swoop l converted them all to 6 weeklies.
The entire procedure seems to of been implemented unnoticed.
Do you still like me?

Not sure about this, but nearly all of our stuff is 6 weekly. Sometimes when it's all gone well with timings etc, we've rocked up 5 or 6 days early and nobody batted an eyelid. A lot of our custies still say "See you next month" !!
-
Komisch, na!
-
have toyed with idea of making my 2 monthlies into 6 weeks and see if anyone noticed

My conversion equates to a 30% weekly increase approximately.

fair play to you mate but i wont be doing it.
my round mainly consists of calendar monthly and 2 monthly accounts so it would mess my round up.
i also have some stand alones and groups of 3 or 4 houses on 6 weekly at their request.
im certainly not bothered about adding more work to my round really apart from the add ons in spring and summer!! ;D ;D ;D

I love reading your posts Dazmond, they are always so upbeat and optimistic.
-
Im supposed to be 6 weekly... but never am.
8 weekly is more realistic.
Not that I really keep track, just work down the list, then start at the top again.
If I cant be assed to clean that particular house... woooops ill miss it, and do it on a later date.
Tomorrow for example, we may go to a village for the day... but then again might stay in my town and work. I'll decide in the morning. Thats how relaxed we are.

Ian, I'm so sorry! Words fail me. What kind of bungler confuses a verb with a prefix?

One who confuses a prefix with a preposition I'd imagine :)
Paul, that was my attempt at subtle humour, alluded to by the words, "words fail me".

But surely a comparable increase in the physical effort required to maintain the shortened recurrence? The income may be nice, but what of the cost?

That you may inadvertantly overextend your cardio-muscular capability requiring some period of recuperative inactivity with the unintentional consequence of depriving us of this amusing banter :)

Ian, my dear avuncular friend, it is I, your literary protege, who will forever remain stationed at your feet.

Time for me to buy a thesaurus I think (aren't they a type of dinosaur?).
Yes Paul, I believe you are right. It's a thesaurus rex isn't it?

I beg of you to dissuade yourself of any such compunction! I find podophilia abhorrent, particularly if practiced between close family members.

I'm off to conduct a little alcohol verses liver enzyme experimentation. Catch you guys later!

Almost as bad as a Nazi-grammar policeman who misses the second offence!

I noticed it after I'd posted the first time, but I didn't want to rub it in!
