Title: One Chem that can be used on almost anything?
Post by: Steven Butler on March 07, 2013, 09:57:44 am
I currently use solutions SPM and have used it in every job so far with no problems. I'm not looking to change but just wondered if there's any other brands who do a chemical that's pretty much safe on anything??

I'd guess that spm is the best of the micro splitters mainly because it has more ingredients, that's providing that its a micro splitter that your enquiring about.

Carpet wise Pure Clean will work on anything, although it can't always cope with real mingers. That's when Powerburst or UR come in.

Spm is a good all rounder but different circumstances require different things. There's no one product does all.

As Wynne says different circumstances can require a different approach. But if you are happy using something all the time then stick with it. I personally think microsplitters can leave a harsh hand to some fibres and i would always acid rinse using a product containing conditioners not just having a low ph.

If you mix a little energiser with pure clean the cleaning results are on par with SPM at the end of the day SPM is only a boosted powdered micro splitter! i dont know why everyone bangs on about it! there are much better cleaning products out there

I persevere with SPM, it's ok but it's not the fantastic product that people claim it to be, in my opinion.

Pure Clean works far more consistently for me, plus I prefer to boost a product where the need arises rather than use a boosted product on a daily basis on all and sundry.

The problem with adding Sodium Percarbonate to a Microsplitter powder is that the different grades of powder "settle" out. You need to be giving it a thorough stir before use to ensure a consistant mix.
