Saw an old guy clambering a set of ladders today was in his 70's so got talking to him
Really nice bloke to talk to not like some of the ignoranus's around .
But what got me was i just couldn't grasp the way he was cleaning , he was using a black b&q bucket a rag and a leather not dissin the bloke by any means but it was bitter cold and he was plodding away like nobody's business .
I was like jeez how does he do it ?
Anyways this guy walks his round and he walks for miles each day and has done for 30+ yrs .
He was telling me that up until a few yrs back he had a round of over 1000 customers that he and his mate done but his mate turned into an alcoholic so he sacked him and had to dump near on 700 houses !
They just dont make them like that anymore .
None of this wearing gloves lark nor none of that fandangled wfp rubbish lol .

Jeepers, ladder work.
I used to get home after some days unable to hardly move. I used to do this one huge house, inside and out, with a mate which took the two of us a whole day from about 9am till about 5pm without a break. I can remember not being able to physically be able to get the ladder on the van at the end of the day without a real struggle and putting the gear back in the van was a major effort.
After a hard day using the pole, isn't it good to get in the van after the last job and sit there and think home... food.... chair..... beer... bed.
There's a window cleaner in Brighton who I see quite often, 72 years old, and still going strong and still fit and healthy. He's been window cleaning since he was 14 when he started helping his dad out. He's seen some incredible changes over the years but at least he does use a mop and squeegee. He's also had some customers nearly 50 years which I find incredible. He's also an interesting bloke to chat to as well.
