Title: print paving
Post by: lee andrew on March 06, 2013, 03:59:03 pm
Does anyone else find that print paving is dangerous, really slippery even under foot, i turned a job down because of the print paving and it sloped away from the front.
out of interest would scrims under the ladder give a bit more grip?

Probably not. If it looks too risky just walk away.

Have you tried these:

We used to use it for dodgy ones when we were trad. It adds a good bit of stability without too much of a faff.

I don't think scrim will save you - WFP best option obviously but I know an old window cleaner and he carries round a coir coconut fibre doormat and puts it hairy side down ladders on top he's still alive!

scrim will work and is much better than many of the anti slip devices on these surfaces make sure the scrim is damp, having said that i dont think the HSE would see it that way

Print paving can be a nightmare and gets worse when not
washed for a while.
I use wfp and standing on its like standing on ice.
dont put a ladder anywhere near it, far too dangerous.
