Title: Leaking lid !
Post by: wpclean on March 03, 2013, 11:42:35 pm
Have a purefreedom 650 tank, and the problem I have is when the tank is full . . . . . there is a lot of water splashing up  with the movement of the van when driving, and soaking the van !    I realise there needs to be a vent in the tank, but is there a way to modify the lid so there is not a swimming pool in the van ?

Silicon the vent up, drill a hole into the lid, fix a hose lock male fitting to it, get a pice of garden hose with hose lock fitting on and cable tie it to roof of van, sorted

I used rolls and rolls of ptfe tape and screwed the lid back on. Still get a little come out when tank is full to the brim, but nowhere near as much as before!

place a carrier bag over hole with just a couple of small holes in it for the air then screw the lid over the top. problem sorted

We have 3 Wyedale tanks with the vent in the middle and none of them leak, even when the tanks are brimmed. I would suggest the seal around the lid is the issue.
