Title: Pump switch leaking

As above, my pump has developed a leak from around the switch! i have taken it apart and to my surprise there are,or seem,to be no washers.  Any ideas why it is leaking and how to stop it?

The housing seals down on to the big round diaphragm inside. A main reason for a pump pressure switch to start leaking is that it has suffered from frost damage which pushes it away from the pump body. If it has not damaged the screw threads then usually all that is needed is to slightly tighten the screws  holding it on to the pump body.

Thanks Alex,however the leak is coming from above this point,ie from the actual pressure switch!(where the two wire connectors are situated) There are 3v screws and i have tried tightening them but to no avail.

Any chance of a photo of exactly where the leak is coming from?

sounds more like it is leaking from the outlet and dribbling round to the switch and driping, sprinkle with talcum powder and you will see exactly where it coming from

Hi again,not to good with that kind of thing im afraid.   The leak is coming from the little square switch housing on the very top of the pump.  it is coming from where it mates with the black plastic housing ( the bit where you connect the in and out hoses)When i took it off to have a look i was surprised to see no rubber washers to counter this although obviously it works like this as they dont normally leak.

In my experience I would agree with Alex, it sounds like it has frozen and broken the moulding, it may of had a bit of a knock?

Pop a photo of the point where it is leaking across to me and I have may have more of an idea of what the issue is and how to cure it.
