Does anyone have an easy solution to cleaning the 2 brushes on the Sebo Duo? as they tend to get clogged up mainly from wool carpet fibres.
-
Use the vacuum hose from your extractor at the end of the job to suck away the fluff/crud, with a wire brush if necessary to loose the fluff.
-
done that one already still doesnt get enough out for when you have nice white carpets to clean, I have thought about getting a flame torch to burn of once dried.
-
I attach my extension cable from my Sebo BS36 and take 10 mins to clean all the crud out.
a pain, but it needs to be done.
-
Lie it down over a dustbin, turn it on and use an old fork in the bristles - it comes oiut in clumps and is a very satisfying way to do it. Dont worry about damaging the bristles.
-
we did a black top in a pub recently and the roller on our bs46 was THICK with greasy black top on the end of every bristle - had to soak and then steam pressure wash the roller - always glass etc in pub carpets but have to say prob miss out the vaccing next time it was like pushing through honey trying to vac that
-
As suggested, we just use a fork and turn the rollers with your hand ;)
But that's a job for the junior after every job :D
-
anyone tried burning the wool off once dried?
-
Burn off are you for real and melt the brushes just turn on and collect with a fork easy.
-
just a thought, as wool and hair singe and does not burn on, therefore small bursts of flames would not harm the brushes, but should cause the fibres to disintegrate.

Here's Jim Neal's video

Yes sometimes going to a light carpet the sebo can leave some marks starting off, mostly just loose fibers, nothing that won't come up as you clean. After a pub/restaurant if they are bad, greasy, i'll take them out and soak and scrub them and clear any build up around the spindle.

I get a Polish guy to do mine. He does a fantastic job and they are like new when he has finshed. Only charges a pound. Hoping to knock him down a bit though when the Romanians arrive.

Jim Neal might be along soon I know he oves this question.
-
Thanks, fork has worked well.
-
I used to turn it upside down, turn the machine on and use a big screw driver to go along the brush as if you were using a chisel on a wood lathe.
-
I do the same as pro fresh but with a wire brush don't use it much as its a pain
-
Upgrade to an envirodri, the brushes come off.
Can't imagine having to try cleaning without removing the brushes, nightmare.
-
I did upgrade to an Envirodri Gen 4 a few years ago and the job it does is far superior, but I wouldnt buy another one now. They are not built to be used as an agitating machine, so I was told by a very defensive (and offensive) lady at Envirodri the other day.
The body doesnt like to get damp and starts to crack and fall to pieces slowly, they used to send me a replacement while they repaired it, but it looks like those days are over.
