get a pair of heavy duty triple extension ladders , pref 12 run, what roofers use. good solid, strong. get a set from your cleaning job, a wide ladder stand off. lots on ebay. if you dont feel 100% safe DONT CLEAN IT, just do what your comfortable with. not worth risking your life for.

I use a set of these and they are great. I have used them on wet decking and on snow and ice.

yes if i fall on her breasts would be well safe

Simplest and safest way way on wet decking is to nail a piece of 2" x 2" onto the decking infront of the ladder.

i have a rojak ladder stopper and use it on occasions but not for clearing gutters.them days are over for me now!i always hated clearing them out and nearly fell off a few times while doing em! ;D ;D

You wanna run that past your accountant. You might be able to get some tax relief, for wear and tear ;)

dont trust Anything with rubber , i did and my ladder slipped on a front path and i fell the full drop . rubber doesnt grip once theres any dampness or the slightest of dust which i did not know beforehand of course .
there should be proper testing of all the safety stuff, proper testing by independants . the maker of the rubber mats i fell from tried to fob me off with his weasley test results and offered me several gifts to buy my silence, but i wont be bought . if i had been crippled id have sued him

So you're not suing him as you weren't crippled, he didn't accept gifts offered by the manufacturer, but also you wont be bought.
We're still just as much in the dark about who you're talking about as we were before you posted. Perhaps he has 'bought' you ;)

agree with dani j basemate great and safe.

although i do like the rojak and simmilar, the trouble is, when you find out that one of these is not very good its too late :-)

"laddermat" was what slipped on my ladders . just after my accident i posted on here about what happened and quite a few posted up their own bad stories about various rubber mats slipping . up till then i had thought that rubber was a good idea but its worse than useless unless you are on bone dry ground/such as high summer/ but in Britain the ground is often damp or dirty .
i would not accept gifts because the manufacturer would not believe that his mat was the reason i fell. also he wanted to have my mat back to check it over, but i believe that was really because he wanted to destroy it as it was evidence i had . ive since read in various different places about the real dangers of rubber slipping,
so i now know the risk of rubber slippin is real
the laddermat promo vid shows it being a great idea to use it on a smooth path (just like mine slid on) and the maker removed his voice over from that bit after i contacted him (likely so it wont incriminate him), but did not alter the vid itself - i believe this is very irresponsible of him, somebody else likely will slip jus like i did after believing the promotional blurb
