After some thoughts and advice
Been contacted by someone to quote for a number of establishments throughout the region (12 in total)
In summary they claimed they had the contract nationally and would I be Interested in providing the service and quoting on all these establishments throughout my area
Bi monthly outsides insides 3 x per year
Now how should I view and deal with this ?
I'm always a cynic and ain't running around pulling quotes together (basically doing someone else's job free of charge) as this is a job within itself so how would you respond and what would you do
Or is this a load of bull ???

basically , put your best , ehhmm highest price in .

But quoting is going to be a task in itself as they are quite dispersed ... Does charging for quoting work ?? With the cost being deducted from any work gained maybe ??

Nobody is going to pay you to price work.
This goes 1 of 3 ways.
1, You price the work which carries the possibility of you not getting said work and therefore being out of pocket.
2, You price the work and get the work.
3, You don't price the work and therefore have no chance at getting the work.
Basically if you want this work you need to stop being a cynic and price it. If you don't get it then tough luck, better luck next time.

i'd go and price them up.
You dont win every quote you do, but if you dont put a price in, you dont win any.

Depends if you trust who is asking. I'd be very wary.

most of these bigger companies always get at least 3 quotes and are usually looking for the lower price, if your a one man band then can sometimes work in your favour as your hourly rate to make a profit can sometimes be lower than the bigger local companies, I wouldn't quote without looking at them first as you can really come unstuck with it, I also know it can be very demoralising..!- quoting and not getting it as it has cost you money to do this, but if you don't try you won't know..? good luck mate

If they're too far out of your way, ask for plans or pictures of the buildings. I've done this on several occasions for a company I deal with.

I often Google Earth the property to see if its one I'm interested in quoting.

"Establishments"? They must be brothels.
