slx ranges, not on sale anymore? :(

We have sold through all of the SLX stock reserved for the sale in just 3 days - we were not quite aware of just how popular the sale would be on the SLX range. The SLX range is still on a 'partial sale' though with every pole purchased coming with a free carbon gooseneck and brush (worth £55+VAT)

We have now had to restrict the 'Carbon Pole Sale' to the Super-Max40, Super-Max45, Super-Max47, Xtreme18, Xtreme25, Xtreme35, Xtreme47 & all Xtreme telescopic extensions.

The sale is going to be on until April, but not in all of the sizes. We were just completely swamped over the last three days with the sheer volume of sales in the SLX range particularly - nearly 2 month's sales in just 3 days.

They didn't - through the day I kept changing the website gradually removing different sizes of poles as the orders came in. We had four extra members of staff in today and were doing a 'virtual' stock take every 20 minutes. At one point I did have to put one size back on that had been taken off - due to our stock taking skills  :)

You need a decent shopping cart system then that you can load with the amount of stock you have that automatically deducts one each time you sell one. That was what my £19.99 EKM site did.

Just a subtle but significant change because you previously wrote:

It will continue until we have sold out of all our current stock of poles. I anticipate the sale lasting at least until the beginning of April. It is worth bearing in mind though that some of these pole sizes will sell out sooner than other sizes. Xtreme18s have already sold out - SLX18s and SMAX50s are also getting low from internet sales over the weekend.

That too is my only gripe. Of course I understand retail sales and how they change at any moment but I purposely left it till I had a free night to make my order (last night) based on the above post I had read. Nevermind though as Alex said they were caught out by demand. Hey ho...

Collating stock was more complicated than this but an accurate stock taking method is certainly needed and being worked on.

So how can you still have the 22 slx in stock but not in the sale  ??? ??? ???

I have made sure that we have a handful of SLX poles which are there for those clients that really need a pole in the next two months rather than just buying a sale pole.

The speed in which the SLXs were being bought was completely unexpected and not foreseen by me.  I had made the above statement thinking that we would have these pole sizes available through to the end of March which the odd size going out of stock along the way - not only after 3 days.  Because of this I had to make the business decision to make sure I had a handful of SLXs left in stock for those who really need one through next month.  Technically the SLX range is still on sale as it is being sold with free carbon gooseneck and free Super-Lite brush (worth £55).

No and don't let the Workshop see you post that.  They were working until 8.30 pm last night fulfilling orders.  We had 4 extra members of staff employed all day yesterday.

Only the SLX poles have come off the sale as these were the sizes that sold so rapidly from Friday evening through to Monday afternoon.

You never worried about holding stock back before when you used to sell out of slx's and they weren't back in stock for weeks. Surely the people who are buying the sale pole have the  entitlement to one now as opposed to someone who "really need one through next month". All sounds a bit lame imo

I think we should take Alex at his word, I can see why he wouldn't want to be out of stock of every slx for months. It did used to happen and he got slated for it. Why would he want to go back to that.

I also think all this griping at him is a good way to make sure a sale doesn't happen again.

If that genuinely happened then its unfortunate and I sympathise.

Why take the passive aggressive approach though? A simple email explaining the situation to Alex will, I'm sure, lead to a satisfactory outcome. He tends to be a reasonable chap in situations like this.

It isn't about entitlement, it's about the odd way it was all conducted. A sale supposedly until the stock is sold, then the sale is pulled before the stock is gone and conflicting information about the reaon for its ending.

The real point is that if the firm had not posted on the subject of the sale and when it is due to end, none of this and speculation about the reaons would be occurring. It is just bad PR.

Gardiners and others would be better ignoring 99% of the threads on here in my opinion.

Gardiners and others would be better ignoring 99% of the threads on here in my opinion.
totally agree

slx ranges, not on sale anymore?

We were just completely swamped over the last three days with the sheer volume of sales in the SLX range particularly - nearly 2 month's sales in just 3 days.

i am so pleased for you Alex and your team, well-deserved! :)

That last comment is nice ben M!

@ Stephen Fox

I know you are following these posts.

It's your turn now mate.

Cash waiting  ;D

Haha! ;D

In my mind there is only one reason you need a to have sale on - you got to much stock on your hands that you aren't shifting (competitions taking a piece of the action, etc)  ;D

There's only one consistently professional and helpful pole company that posts on this forum ...

Just replying to post directed at myself with a bit tongue in check humor.  ::)roll

I know Alex's (as i guess that is who your referring to?) whole business is built around being 'professional and helpful' on forums - other companies do things differently.

I'm sorry I've offended you.

The other may be a new range that puts the Phoenix range to 6th best!

Sunshine for you to make that post I can pretty much  guarantee you haven't got Phoenix, not used one and probably never seen them in real life!  ;)

It would be interesting to see if Alex has a new range, as I can't see who will buy it as every man and his dog are spent out on this sale! ;D

I didn't. So what have you got that's cheaper and better than the Gardiners Xtreme pole in high modulus carbon please? Cash waiting.
