Is a Hi Viz required when cleaning windows in a cordoned off pedestrian area at night, no traffic or pedestrians can get on site.
Also is Hi viz required when working on a scaffold tower ?
I personally have my ideas, just interested if anyone knows the definitive answer.
-
Hi David, my name is not Viz! ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
its 50/50 really, depends where u are etc,
personally if im out the house working, mines on before i leave house and taken off when i get in my house at night.
-
I put mine on once a week. I never wear it at other times as it says "community payback" on it and it would I think send out the wrong message to my customers.
-
I guess the definitive answer to both is no. But for the sake of it why not just wear one anyway?
-
I would say yes.

Your mate should wear them in bed as they are waterproof.

Why do you cordon off if no traffic or pedestrians can get on site?
What does your risk assessment say?
My personal view would be to wear hi-viz in both circumstances as you will have other operatives working on the same site. If only one person is on site that needs addressing in your RAMS.

We ware hi viz all the time, even on domestics. People a couple of hundred yards away can see us and come over to ask to be custies.

Why have posts been deleted?

If you put it in your risk assessment then you should stick to your word regardless of any laws
