Haha! Genuine laugh out loud at that!

One of those things. I did get an extra free beanie though.

Some decent prices in there, especially given the brush and gooseneck included.

What's the saving on that particular pole? On my phone with dodgy 3G so unable to look.

Not sure exactly, I bought my second one about 18 months ago, if I remember correctly it was just over £300 "inc" vat without brush or carbon neck!! Brilliant every day pole. They were certainly well over £200 + vat the last time I looked, again without carbon neck but can't remember if the brush was included then or not.

Slightly annoyed now about having bought an Xtreme only a little while ago. Wish I knew this, and wish I knew there would be an Xtreme II out. I would have used my old SL-X for a few months more.  :-\  :-\

Not to mention I just bought the extension kit beginning of the month, now it's half price.

Oh well. Can't say I'm any less happy with the pole at least. :)

The reason for the sale and complimentary carbon goosenecks and brushes is that Alex is soon bringing out a new (well modified) range of poles. Tempted by the ones on sale but will probably wait until new range is out and will just have to pay more.

Generally speaking an SLX25 will reach 3rd level (1st level = Ground, 2nd level = 1st Floor, 3rd level = 2nd Floor) windows if they are not too deeply recessed or are not on an old higher ceiling building.

When I first brought out the SLX25 it was for the express purpose of reaching a third level dormer window that previously I had to get a heavy 32ft pole out for. The SLX allowed me to clean all of these type of jobs without changing poles.

If you already get on well with the Xtreme range of brushes then I would recommend the Xtreme Medium-Mixed. It is very similar to the soft one you currently have, but is a little tougher and allows more water free-flow.

I cannot at this time comment specifically on any future pole ranges.

I have however said on another thread the following about the XtremeII:

It is in the pipeline, but the pipe is currently of indefinite length.

It will continue until we have sold out of all our current stock of poles. I anticipate the sale lasting at least until the beginning of April. It is worth bearing in mind though that some of these pole sizes will sell out sooner than other sizes. Xtreme18s have already sold out - SLX18s and SMAX50s are also getting low from internet sales over the weekend.

alex as your on here, i can afford either a slx 35 or a super max 40  but i want to use it as an every day pole, at the moment i use a clx 27 but its a bit short for a couple of jobs so the slx  would be bang on, but could i take sections off the smax & use it like that  then i could look at bigger jobs as well.   your opinoin greatly appreciated  ;D

It depends if you really need a 40ft pole or not - if you do then the Super-Max40 is the one to go for. If you really only need a 35ft then this would be a better choice as it is lighter and cheaper.

You can certainly remove sections from any of our poles and with the fitment of a spare end-cap carry on using them. However it is worth bearing in mind that this would remove the insulated section from the pole.

If you were to buy an SLX35 and then get a higher job you could always buy a handle section from a Super-max40 as a spare section later on and add this to the pole when needed.

A bit off topic but I've a complaint.  ;D

I ordered a couple of bits off Alex Gardiner last week and I didn't get a free beanie, which is a separate complaint, I got a free Gardiners pen instead and it doesn't work.

I can thoroughly recommend the pad-ice gloves he sells though - did a job today in temperatures between zero and 1C. They kept my hands nice and warm.

"there can be no deposits, or waiting lists, or reserved orders. It has led to so many problems with previous pole orders. Also we can't set up an order and take part funds including vat in one quarter and then finalise the order and payment in another quarter, accounts wise it's a nightmare and its irregular from a vat point of view."

Apologies for not checking this first before posting a reply.

Just goes to show happiness is 'relative'.

If last week I had paid £900 for a light pole that I had had my eye on for the last six months and was now using it and was happy with my purchase, then this week found out it was £600, my happiness could easily turn to disappointment.

If I waited until this week to buy I would be really happy that I had only paid £600 and pity those who had paid £900.

This happiness, however,  could just as easily turn to disappointment if next week a newer  pole that weighed only 17 grams  replaced my 1700 gram 'monster'.

It's difficult to stay happy and content

I bought a coffee machine before Xmas for a present, the same machine was in the sales for £80.00 less. I know after Xmas there will always be sales, but i needed it for the big day, so its the choice i made. I also bought a new van, 3 months later it was reduced by £3500 in a price slash, but i needed that van 3 months earlier. If we all waited for sales throughout the year, companies wouldn't do business and probably wouldn't be around to have sales!

Maybe  Alex should have given everyone a 6 month head start on when the products were going to be reduced.  That way he would have had more to sell at a discount.  Would that have made you happy?

No, Alex is the Chairman of the Board which means he can overule the MD if he really wants to but on day to day business decisions it would be wise not to as the MD has been appointed for that express purpose.

And if the MD cooks his tea and shares his bed he had better behave! And if the MD is his sister he still has to play nicely.

As I do not have to run the office, managing staffing, look after accounting and VAT  I generally listen to what she says in these situations.

Does anydody know when the sale is on until?

It will continue until we have sold out of all our current stock of poles. I anticipate the sale lasting at least until the beginning of April. It is worth bearing in mind though that some of these pole sizes will sell out sooner than other sizes. Xtreme18s have already sold out - SLX18s and SMAX50s are also getting low from internet sales over the weekend.

It was a bold statement but it became rapidly apparent on Monday that I needed to keep a handful of pole sizes back for clients who really need certain sized poles, not just a sale pole.  Technically the SLX range is still on sale as each pole comes with a free carbon gooseneck and brush worth £55.

We have already emptied our shelves of the SLX18 and the SMAX50 - you will continue to see this happening as we go through March as the various sizes sell out. We will not be re-stocking these poles.
