Title: Safe contractor accreditation question.
Post by: Terry A on February 12, 2013, 08:36:59 pm
I have a client that's asked for CHAS or safe contractor accreditation.I've had a word with a few people and it appears safe contractor is more recognised.

How long will the process take?what's it cost ? and should I consider getting some help from an expert or bat through it myself? I think if I go it alone it may take a while.

All advice would be appreciated.

Regards

Terry.

£120.00 for a sole trader around £200.00 plus for a company depending on numbers of employees.
Do it yourself most of the auditing is none applicable like Hazardous wast etc.
They will help you get through it, if your on the ball about 4-6 weeks to complete.

If opting for both SC and Chas, do the SC process first aS it's more straight forward than Chas.

Once approved with SC, request from Chas the form to return in regards to you having SC. All under the body of SSIP so they hold your original paperwork and you won't do as much with Chas.
