how much on average should i pay for an acountant to do my yearly tax returns please guys , im self employed and its just me :D
-
About £400. Well worth it. Mine saved me £20 last year. ;D
-
mine is £150 a year
-
£150 for a man on his own sounds more like it!
Ours charges about £300, but there's Ltd Co returns to do, Corporations tax, then we're both employees of our company so there's our tax and NI and employers NI and he prepares our monthly payslips and at the end of the year our Self Assessments.
Worth his weight in gold - he might not 'save' us much actual cash, but in time and effort he saves us many weeks, plus relieves us of the worry of doing it all.
-
Too much! £520 last year trading as Ltd.
-
well i was thinking 150 to 200 , but my mate knows a good one but said he may be 4 or 500 a year which i think is a lot ???
-
i think there is a difference between an accountant and a chartered accountant
-
£120 year ;D
-
£400 + vat ltd co,worth every penny saves me loads ;)
-
i pay £450 plus vat and im a sole trader. and thats even when i put my earnings and losses into excel myself. it seems most of my money is justified by my accountant giving an hour long speech about the future of my company (all of which is complete waffle). think i may have to shop around. Plus the added bonus of switching accountants is hopefully i'l get the window cleaning contract at their office

£120 for me. There's not much for them to do if you use George.
-
£190.00 as he is one of my customers ;D ;D
-
£250 for me and the mrs :-*
-
I pay £100 + vat a month for each of my companies, so £2400+vat a year
-
£1040 for Ltd company (chartered accountant)
-
We pay £150 for un limited company and £395 for limited, worth every penny.
-
RIng a couple of local accountants and have a chat, we spoke to the one who did our payroll and she gave us an idea of price, a lot of it depended how we kept the accounts at our end, ie turnover, expenses, etc etc
We keep all the information on a comprehensive excel spreadsheet so she said would be simple hence cheaper than if we just gave her a load of numbers she had to work out.

Al those who said worth every penny can you give us a break down on things they have saved you money on ? its just my accountant only puts down your normal expenses and basically told he will do the same as I do just more professionally so what are these super accounts doing to save you money ?

A lot of Mortgage lenders these days prefer to see annual accounts that have been prepared by a chartered accountant.
-
Mine are chartered certified accountants and registered auditors.
-
£770 inclusive

I reckon they will be perfectly happy with copies of tax returns.
If you find the idea of filling in a tax return daunting then pay an accountant, but don't expect to save much money on your tax. It is highly unlikely that they will save you anything like what they cost.

So true.
But if you charge your time at £30 per hour (for working it out, submitting it etc) then how much does he save you?

£15. That is all it takes. I have the figures prepared as I would if I were to give them to an accountant.
