can you wonderful people on here recommend some new hose connectors for me
both for from the pump to the reel and hose to reel
went and bought loads of bq hozelock last night and have had nothing but leaks all day
i am at the moment running two reels of one pump and even the new "y" piece leaked
thank you
ps
no smart remarks about me being a plumber i suppose i will have to take it on the chin ;D

Quick release ones

I have the microbore to hozelock fittings Gardiners sell and have used them for over 18 months without any probs at all . Mike

I've got the rectus 026 Y piece, more expensive, but worth it imo. Had it a year and no problems. Also, the 026 fitting from 1/2'' hose to reel, a female fitting. End stop. The reel is one of those Koreel efforts, so the chunky reel swivel unit you plug into with the hose from the pump may differ from yours. I got them from Blackwell Hydraulics on the Deeside Ind Estate. See Darren.

have rectus fittings on pole hos and from valve on end of main hose reel.
but hose lock off the hose reel into the port on van. I have found time after time that hozelock leak terribly from pretty much day one. sometimes find cheaper ones have a surer fit.
your post reminds me to pick some - as likewise fed up with leaks and amount water i lose through it.

Try wilkinsons own brand hoseloc type connectors.
I've been using them for over a year now and at 99p bargain.
They only sell them in spring / summer so stock up.

I use both ck brass connectors and gardena connectors - no problems with either

NEVER ever use b & q hose locks. I find that the "old" style hoze locks where the best. They seem to have a range out but they don't last as long as the old style. Good thing about using hoze locks is that you can plug you pole or reel in any where.

i use the heavy duty pro hoselocks on my pumpbox with the cheap pound hoselock type on reel.yes indeed the cheap ones are a tighter fit for my reel.still leaks a bit though.
do you reckon ptfe tape round the reel connector would help? ???

I like the Gardena range of hoselocks. Not as easy to source as the "Hoselock" brand as the garden centres and DIY like B&Q don't stock them.
