its knowing when to give up on an estate. i leaflet once only and move on to the next. for example i did a leaflet drop last year on a estate and got about £50 of reg monthly work, over the year its increased without further leafleting. Every leaflet drop i`ve done i got work from it and working out how much i spend on leafleting i`ve had a good return .

I tend to do more frequent but shorter periods of canvassing, where I would walk for hours in the past I limit this now to two hours, a good strategy for me is to schedule work till 4pm and then I canvass 4-6pm 2-3 times a week, it works well and even if I get zilch I'm safe in the knowledge that my contact details are now lying on their doormat and there will be some return on this, hope this helps

Marketing is best way. You can do it yourself.
Leaflet all the time, re leaflet same houses every month or two
For year.
Sign your van
Adverts in local press and village mags
Sponsor school fetes
Get known
Work will come
Door knocking once name is known
The key is to get your name known then people buy from
You.may take a year but it works.
Good luck
