has anyone removed there tank from a fitted ionics system to fit into a new van??
how did you get it out ?? ie cut the bolt and remove
fitting to a new van ??

the van is seven years old now and a new one is coming Friday ,so the big swap around is happening on fri night , first job is some sort of floor lining paint i've gone for protector kote this time as the speed liner stuff at £650.00 is mad and lifted off anyway and i wasn't impressed with it at all.
next is removal of the old tank to fit into the new van ,any help or advise will greatly be listened too

get a socket the size of the nut
and turn to the left
simples ;D ;D ;D

spray some wd40 around the nut/bolt a few hours in advance of removal. The tank will be heavy so get someone to help you lift it.

If the bolts are rusted fast wet with water. Water made the rust water will dissolve it.Or ccut off with angle grinder.

I've done exactly the same thing recently but not with an ionics tank. My tank had been in nearly 6 years. I sprayed up some wd40 before and let that settle and then just used socket sets and spanners to take the bolts off. The hardest bolts to take out for me were the hose reels. As long as you have good access it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I used protectacote as well, it's only been 3 months so far but I must say I'm pleased with it, it does need a few days to cure though.
Refitting the tank is easier, just steer clear of the fuel tank.

Nissan Primastar, the Ranger I had was staring to cost money. Managed to get a really good deal on the Primastar and am loving the room, but I must admit I do miss the 4 wheel drive.

I've been looking to get a pickup, but like you say it's nice to have the space with is the drawback with the pickups.

Cheers all the new vans coming tomorrow, ive gone the protector kote way this time and i think i will spray only where the tank is now as the weather is so crap and then spray the rest when its a bit better like a nice sunny day lol ...what was that we only had 3 days like that last year ummm ,that was a problem last time ,it didnt stick properly and was loose .Ill just fit 12 mm ply around the rest ,well thats there anyway from the last van happy days .only probs are getting the old bolts out but ive got new ones so will probably just cut them off.but drilling the new holes in the right place looks a bit more difficult ??got to get the cross member just right , probably best drill from underneath then ?? :o :o

Drill through the top it's easier but look at the floor pattern and keep a tape measure handy to make sure you drill in the right place.

update !!! the vans now painted inside and holes are drilled and in the right place too .A lot of measuring and checking and measuring again and checking what a ball ache !!! but the protector kote paint is taking forever to dry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:( >:(had to hire a big air mover heater
the whole system is so heavy something i was not ready for it took 3 guys to lift it ,and it was empty .So fitting tomorrow and wiring up at least that should be straightforward ;D

It would be good to see some pictures if you get the opportunity. What system is it? Why so heavy?

at last its done ,all in and working ,its a thermopure 650 machine Ill do some photos when it stops snowing !!!!!!!!! >:(
