hi
i'm about to buy some sort of ladder stabiliser/stopper. there seems to be loads of alternatives about (laddermate, rojak, ladder m8trix etc), is there any concensus on what is best?
also although it's for unlevel ground not for ladder slip, but the titan basemate looks quite good anyone use one of them?

24'' rojak ladder stopper is good but does tend to slip a tad on damp areas or where there be loose dirt/dust/small stones. I carry a little brush about to clear it before i put it down but am looking at the m8trix industrial which looks pretty decent if anyone has used one would like to know what you think?
was thinking about putting aload of 1/4 inch nails through the rubber or super gluing a softer rubber/spongey bit on the bottom of the rojak actually to help grip?? but i think i might be better off with the m8trix now that ive seen it.

dont trust rubber outside . in the ladderm8trix video he warns about it and his product looks good .
i had a ladderfall after rubber slipped on a pathway so i learnt the hardway not to trust rubbermats.

Have used ladderm8trix for 7 years now. Forget about the rest, that's all that I can say. :)

Roland, I use the titan base mate on my ladder, it is an excellent safety device especially for uneven ground where you can level the ladder in seconds, it also has spike on the feet as well which come in handy. I highly recommend it! I do have a rojack ladder stopper which I use sometimes as well. :)

Basemate is the best bit of kit I invested in when I started out trad .

Cheers guys. I don't go up ladders much so when i do i want to feel and be safe. From all my looking around i would like to use the titan basemate and the laddermate but by the looks if it i wouldn't be able to use them together which is a shame. So it might be the titan basemate and something else tostop backwards slip.

yes basemate is the best of the lot

Hi Roland, The majority of the time when using my ladders the titan basemate is good enough on its own and you wont get any backwards slip, sometimes I may put the 24" ladder stopper under the feet and then on top I stick this bad boy on - an industrial spec ladder stand off to prevent any sidewards slip and handy for working on a down pipe or corner of a building. :)
