Evening chaps. Bit of a tough question to answer but can someone give me a ballpark figure as to what height pole i would need for this. I have a 30ft extreme and am trying to work out if another 5ft extension will be adequate.
We're talking a typical victorian building with quite large windows
-
I guess about 10ft per floor
-
I'd say 40ft. The Victorian houses tend to be a bit higher than modern ones.
-
40ft defo if not 45ft
-
Super max will do it 40 foot or a Slx35 with 1 or 2 s/max extension
-
45 to be on the safe side

Hi G.Brookes
Do you mean that you need to reach the 4th floor (Ground, 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th floor = 5 storeys) or do you need to reach the 4th storey (Ground, 1st, 2nd & 3rd)?
This will make a difference to what you need in height.
-
hi alex, its a 4th floor so yeah, ground, 1st,2nd,3rd,4th

In that case you will need about 45ft.

4th floor is 5th storey yes? If so G,1,2,3,4? 45ft may still be tight.
Might be a bit late now but i've been toying with the idea of getting one of those lazer tape measures. Point it to the top of the glass from where you'd stand and then there's no ambiguity as to the length you'd need.
Seem to be pricey but thought it'd look good when quoting to the customer though.

45ft actual length gives you about 50ft reach. I carry out work on 5 storeys and usually find that about 43ft does the job. However if it is very high 4th floor then maybe another 5ft would be needed.
Perhaps a picture could be posted?

im heading there tomorrow but unfortunately it'll be too dark to take a photo.

How about getting a pole to the top of the ground floor panes then the same for first and second floors. Measure the difference between floors and multiply by 5 for probable height.
That'd work wouldn't it...
-
Yeah that's what I plan to do. Use my extreme pole as a £600 measuring tape haha. Thanks for the help chaps

yep 4th floor is 5th storey just to make it confusing
I would go for a 45 instead of the 40 just to be on the safe side
