hi guys, could anyone give me a step by step on changing brushes on an envirodri e40..thanks a lot..
-
Push metal pins out through brushes.
-
you missed the most important part Paul -
change brush
push metal pole back in
-
Oh and make sure the machine is switched off first as it is difficult to push the pins out whilst the brushes are rotating.
-
thats what i thought but the pins seem to be jammed in but thanks for the replies, you know what hey say about sarcasm..
-
The pins can jam, just knock them through with a hammer but use something a little thinner that the pins diameter. Common sence really.
The only danger with these brushes is if you dont remove them regularly to clean then they can seize in and also if put under pressure they will start to turn inside the brush centre which is plastic, once this happens they are very hard to get out and then you will find on replacement they will start to spin after a few uses. Its then time for new brushes and new pins.
Because of this they are a poor design......
When you do get themout safely, just clean and if you can clean the centre of the brush channel, but DONT grease,wd or put oil on them thinking it will act as a lubricant. If you do it will soon get black and will fire out all over the carpet when your using it.

cheers for that paul, i have the gold brushes in at the minute but feel i,d like slightly stiffer ones for agitation, whats your thoughts..
-
Gold are pooe you always have to go very slowwwwww or the machine topples over, i used to go on white for everything.
On very soft wool i had a white set that had been run on concrete for a while to soften the tips up ;)
-
cheers mate, its just finding some, i imagine there a bit like rockin horse s**t..
-
Envirodri sell them, last time i looked they where around 120 aset, come up every now and again on ebay and the forums buy/ sell
-
I had the Envirodri never got the hang of changing the brushes sometimes it took twenty seconds other times ten minutes, sold it now have the Host Reliant brush change takes seconds every time, much better design
-
You may need to lube your rods now and again ;D
