this year im trying to cut as many unneeded cost out the business as possible i currently have three lads out cleaning and we prob use about 1200-1500 litres of water a day
how much water do you think these aqua adaptors would save me as my water bill is currently about 1100 every 3 months due to ballaches regarding my units water
-
Saves me alot I've got into a routine of stopping water between each window even if its only for a couple of seconds. If your staff use it correctly though is another matter ;D

Good start Ritchie, but IMHO if you want to start looking at seriously reducing your overheads, I'd look at getting rid of that unit/office/stockroom thingy that seems to be a massive (expensive) unused space.
-
when you say a lot how many litres even if it 50litres per man a day that saves me 750 a week which is nearly 40,000 a year

it does look massive and unused now deege but i have plans for that over the coming year or so im hoping to double in size this year and im staying away from problem council estates etc having moved three times in few years i havent got it in me to move again it a nightmare changing phone lines etc and moving everything
i know it hefty price to pay but its not that much in comparison to smaller units etc im prepared to take a risk on it for timebeing

I have bought one about 4 weeks ago I used to use 500 litres a day now I use about 350 litres so quite a bit of saving. I have been doing more In a day too as it saves time looking for the tap on the floor. It doesnt weigh much. I use a 27 fr clx with it and weight is not an issue unless your a big girly pants like dazmond lol ;D
-
yeah i just picked one up at corwoods window cleaning supplies in northwich nothing too them at all
-
Richie ,Please mate don`t through good after bad. Aquadaptors will save you nothing.Your staff will kill them soon after you have bought them and save pennies in water. You will not save by spending. You are a good guy but some of your ideas are not good one`s
-
to be honest smithie ive seen mixed reviews on here at the minute my tanks arent big enough and the lads have to return each day once to refill and sometimes its takes an hour coming back from an area filling up and returning to the area plus fuel and labour costs im just looking at a cheap alternative which may keep them out long enough to get through there work with out returning
-
I wish I could make money like you through it away.Aqadaptors are for chaps who personally use there poles themselves. I they will be shot in the first week. Save Water? we do not live in the Sahara desert.
Some times you frighten me with your way of thinging.
-
Mate two words, pole taps .If they cannot trusted to use them nothing will work.AQuadoptor dead in the water.I rest my case.
-
Let me know how you get on. I tried one a year or so ago, it seemed OK but we eventually broke it. I have heard that they have improved since then but to be honest we don't really have too much of a water issue.
If it works it works.
-
Why dont you fix the tap to the pole handle. Weve don this for the last year and once in the habit of turning off it saves masses of water, cost nothing and is easy to do.
The loop it creates of pole hose takes a bit of getting use to but other than that wouldnt do without it set up like that.
-
You say your tanks are not large enough for 2 operators. Can I ask what size tanks are they and how much work/ how many jobs are they given?
-
yeah i just picked one up at corwoods window cleaning supplies in northwich nothing too them at all
do they have a shop you can go into ? if so what's the address the one on the website just seems to be a house
-
Why dont you teach the guys to just kink the pole hose between windows. works fine for me. cheers.
-
tap between brush and top of pole so very handy :)
-
i just nip the hose now.its aqua-daptor pole hose mind you which is great!! ;D ;D ;D
im using around 350-400L a day now where i was using more like 300L before but thats mainly due to working with a mega high flow rate.
the thing is with the aqua-daptor is i use carbon goosenecks with extreme brushes for most of my work and i find all the adaptors needed not very secure on my pole and it does affect the overall balance of the pole.
my pole is ultra lightweight now which makes the awkward windows a breeze.ive noticed a lot less strain on my shoulders and neck.
and i cant recommend using a high flow rate highly enough!!i can save an hour a day at least just by using a fast flow.
regards
dazmond

Most effective way of saving water
Trigger !!!
Look on cleaning spot there about £35
And worth the weight in gold ! Nothing will
save you more water
Your lads won't be bothered about saving water
Coz they will get a skive drive back to unit.
So aqua adapter will only annoy them with extra
Weight on pole .
Buy some triggers and force them in to it !!
-
Triggers get them from wintecs about £25 including vat they save loads of water and robust .
-
Buy them a squeegie each for the bottoms - save half the water. Give them a beating if they dare come back before dark.
-
tap between brush and top of pole so very handy :)
Yes me too. :)
And I just kink the hose when moving between upstairs windows.

I must confess, I have never used an aquadaptor. But I have sadly only ever heard issues from friends of mine about their build quality. I will not purchase to save water or save money. I have 100 litre tank though so it isn't an issue for me.
I am puzzled about one thing though. You say you want to save water, which you equate to money, but say also you want to double in size this year. To double in size, you gotta spend money. If lads are travelling an hour and running out of water, I would say a more pressing issue is not an aquadaptor, but finding closer work or buying bigger tanks. That will save you a lot more money than an aquadaptor that may not even be used by your workers or may break! :(

its a unit dave its in middle of a housing estate off the main road london road i think just under the railway bridge, its a bit like an old cub hut or something
its a walk in shop not masses of stuff but the essentials you prob need day to day for the facelift poles in stock there

You say your tanks are not large enough for 2 operators. Can I ask what size tanks are they and how much work/ how many jobs are they given?
the system in the vivaro is only a 500 litre tank i bought it second hand under impression it was a 650litre!! they usually do somewhere between 25-30 jobs a day at minute
the system in the combo is only a 300 litre tank he prob does 11-15 jobs a day depending on size of houses

yep here what your saying steve im looking at changing the tank in big van over in spring just with being pressed for daylight at minute im trying to get as much done as possible at minute its not a major issue, the major issue is the fact im having to pay my water bill thru an adjacent unit which supplies mine and the other two units in my row, which means my water is not discounted at minute like at old unit by 40% from water company hopefully this issue will be getting resolved by landlord but it costing me approx 4-500 quid extra per quarter
-
Richy, your bill seems rather excessive ??? A thousand litres of water costs about £2.70 down this way plus a rebate on sewerage.
Check your calculations - something's not right.
I pay £25 a week including my four bed house usage.
Find somewhere not on a meter I'd say.

How long have your friends had them and which model? We have kept improving the product, but build quality has never been an problem, we use high-quality components and they are all made in the UK. They've always had a 12 months warranty.
With the release of the latest eXtra Light model, although a lot had been said about weight, it's now really light.
If any of your friends have problem with their Aqua-dapter, please ask them to get in touch (sales@aqua-dapter.co.uk or 01384 934934), good customer service is very important to us.

It does depend on how they're used, but generally users report about 20% saving over other methods.
A post on another forum yesterday showed 33% saving, but not sure what he was doing to save water before fitting his Aqua-dapter.

thanks paul feel free to send me three for free and il write up a report on how well we have improved our usage ;D ;D ;D

hi we did today 28 jobs worth around 370 ,all maintanance cleans and a 10 m strip of fascia.
we used around 350 l ,2 poles both with taps (from gardiners)and plus we changed the jets in the brushes with 1mm ones.i have to say it does save a bit of water ( i would say around 50l/day)
most of my jobs are wfp but we also do trad aswell if wfp won't do a good enough job

Aquadapters are the muts nuts if you ask me.....
Dont listen to the wingers on here most of them have only used the mk1 and mk2 ;D
I have just recieved the new XL and cant wait to try it tomorrow!!!
-
I cannot see how an aquadaptor will save you any more that a pole tap as someone has to engage both of them.Which will do the exact same thing. At 7.95 off e bay great saving on cash.

They had mark 1&2 I think. I just won't make a purchase until however is making them cracks it. It doesn't seem long ago that the first one was released and already there is a mark 3, which kind of backs up my theory that something was amiss with the first 2 models. As I say, I am not really in a position to judge because I have never used one, just going by the opinion of those I know who have. I must know five or six who owned them and only one keeps using them.

Hi Steve,
The Mk1 was released in June 2010 and was only on sale for about 4 months. It required the pole to be modified to fit so, responding to customer demand we developed the Mk2.
The Mk2 was very successful throughout the rest of 2010 and 2011 (there are many still in use), nothing was 'amiss' but we looked for a way to improve the method of fitting to the pole (a separate part and clamp were needed with the Mk2). We did have an unforeseeable issue with one batch, which we replaced for any customers affected free of charge.
The Mk3 was released early in 2012, being lighter and much easier to fit.
The latest version of the Mk3 has changes to the components just to make it lighter, as that was the main requested change.
They all work in a similar way and we only really see problems when they aren't kept clean, just like a pole works better and lasts longer when it's looked after. We put them through a lot of tests, both in the workshop and out in the field before they're released (see the video on our FAQs > Technical Info page for an example).
Unfortunately as I don't know who your friends are or how long they did use their Mk1s or Mk2s for I obviously can't comment on why they've had any issues. I can only say that we are very confident in the product and encourage customers to contact us with any issue they may have. We have a 28 day money back guarantee for anyone who's unsure to try one and send it back if they don't get on with it.
We've got many happy customers (some of whom were originally very negative about the product before they'd tried it!) and there are now 1000s of Aqua-dapters in use around the world ;)

yes to turn tap on /off will take the same time as to pull hose for on /off on aqua-dapter.

Have you used an Aqua-dapter sfwc?
