Title: float switch
Post by: Cliff perkins on January 29, 2013, 03:33:06 pm
hi all
what float switches ball cocks are you guys using to automatically shut of the water going into your vans at night.
i think my hydroflow float solenoid swith is on its way out and just got quoted £100 to replace it.
i think there must be a cheaper way to do this i know you can fit a ball cock inside tank but want something robust enough to stand all the water sloshing around in the tank while brakeing etc.

any thoughts welcome

regards cliff

You can buy a flow controller that has a solenoid fill facility built-in. The only ones we keep in stock our our V-Series which are a bit more than you need ( http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/liquid-logic-v2-vehicle-pump-ro-system-digital-controller.html).

However we can get the standard controllers ordered in with a solenoid fill facility if needed or alternatively you can order one through this firm - http://www.wintecs.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=126_136&products_id=10073

Several firms also do separate solenoids and valves - Varitech have a selection here - http://streamlinesystems.info/cat.php?prod_cat=22

Looks quite a clever float valve. The problem is that this will only shut-off your product water going into the tank not the waste and input water which will continue to run. If this is not an issue then a simple valve like this will work.
