Just wondering are you guys using social media to help promote your company and how effective is it for you?
-
It is all I do to advertise, apart from people seeing van or websites, that is where my new work comes from (except the ones that are referrals) ::)
Got many customers through FB page and now getting more support via Twitter & LinkedIn ;)
http://www.facebook.com/StrakerEcoCarpetAndRugCare / https://twitter.com/StrakerEco ........ very easy to join them so one post lands on all 3 pages etc.
-
A good way to build an audience, is to post new stuff that will stir some interest ......... my latest very inexpensive PR/promo offering from Madmoo ...... http://youtu.be/-6k642mEwuw

I find Fb great,lots of enquiries,lots of bookings from it,and it's free ! Chris,love the animation,great idea,very clever.
Desi

Cheers Des, cost me the princely sum of £12-13 ........ was 4 gigs at Fiverr.com and that is all dollars ;D

Whats the average age of customers from facebook.
Im 36 and been on it twice. Personally I just dont get it.
Mark
PS. If I had friends in another country or just far away from my town then fair enough but other than that whats the point of it?
-
Nice video Chris.
Whats the green award you won?
Thanks

its a bit like garlic bread mark. it doesn't sound right but its the future. ;D

I can't get the hang of this facebook malarky. Customers who are friends are great, but i have been very disappointed with the quality of customer who has enquired on facebook, not the type i want tbh.
I'll keep at it though as i know a lot swear by it on here.
-
Mark, there are six now .....from local newspaper & councils of Merton, Kingston, Sutton & Wandsworth .... most were Commended or Highly Commended but I was actually the Green Business of the Year 2007 in Wandsworth borough ;D
But I don't like to go on about it :-X

Great idea. Chris, you just cost me $5.
-
To pick up from deep cleans point, I think a lot of c/cers make a mistake with facebook, they get THEIR friends to like their page and try to sell to them and their friends.
Wrong audience, also other c/cers are the wrong audience, unless that's just to increase the likes.
What you need to do is get your customers to like your page so THEIR friends see it = correct audience.
Have I got that right Chris?
-
I think your right Craig. I was thinking, when you give them a free spotter you could angle at a like or better a share. The power of reciprocation.
-
. The power of reciprocation.
Chaldini ?
-
Thats a good idea Rab.
I did have to make a second visit to job a while ago after a shrank her carpet (joke) she asked me if I wanted more money, I refused but in hindsight I should have said "If you want to thank me share my page.."
I do worry it might be hard for them to find the page though
-
Ha Ha Ha. Put a like button on your home page.
-
I have to get onto that, I got a like button but it 'likes' the website not my facebook page.
-
Twitter is the one that works for me.
-
The more people that like it, the more people likely to come across by association ...... exactly as Criagp says ;D
-
David, that is a good bit of PR for less than a pint of Stella :o

-
Chris, the mission video, yes. It was by dannemroff from fiverr.com.
Thanks again for letting us know about that site - I'll be using it again.
-
There are shedloads of gigs that carpet cleaners could adopt & adapt ......... only takes a little imagination and $5 ;)
-
Yes, and I've just spotted a classic.... watch this space.
-
That`s a mad website, there was one which said, I will write anything you want on my cheeks. But it wasn't what I thought :(
-
great find,thanks.
-
Wonder if you get crack heads on there, "I'll cut off my finger and stick it up my arse for a fiver!"
;D
-
I'm so tight I can't fit my finger up mine ;D
Shaun
