I'm just about up to date this month. Contract tomorrow and a £200 or so for Wednesday or Thursday and I will have completed all my work .
How have you got on?
-
Absolutely shocking!
Crap weather, wages to pay, massive gas and electric bill landing on the door mat,
And most importantly,
No booze due to dry january!
Roll on Feb!
-
Only been out for a couple of days since mid December due to busting my hand, 3 ribs and fractured eye socket Oh the joys of motorcycles and blind idiot drivers lol. Had just gone back and then all the snow came. Earned the grand total of £350 since Dec the 12th so a good job had a bit tucked away for a rainy day.
-
Completly uneffeced by bad weather,, bills dont stop so i dont stop.

Janauary has been my worst month for 2 years ... between snow and van problems lost quite a few days ... ive voted 40% :) ........... such is life ... van now good to go now as all suspension been replaced as has the cambelt and oil pump .... will be getting new van in summer thats for sure !
good news is that i now got my website 95% there and got another project from back burner to front burner ;)
-
Worked rapidly for the first two weeks taking advantage of the warm weather and fairly up to date.
-
I've only lost one day - the Friday before last (heavy snow) - due to the weather, though I've had about three short days because of it.
My cash flow is terrible though! :'(

Good on you Dean! I was attempting the same, had 5 Guinness whilst watching the footy last Sunday though. :(

Ooops, did you feel guilty mate?
-
As expected. Cold, lots of white stuff on the ground. I expect Feb will be the same. Got about 40 to 50% of the work done. So no panic. ;)
-
To be honest, no I didn't. I wasn't doing it for charity or anything so just fancied a few pints. Guinness is more of a meal than a drink anyway..... :)
-
Awful, work wise. What with child minding and the weather.
I try and make the best of it but it has been frustrating.
-
All done ;D
-
to be honest mine was great i had most of it off as holiday
first time ive ever been organised no stress :)

Compared to last January, earning are up by 10% already and there is still a couple of days left of the month. I have only had 1 day when no work has not been done, so I am not moaning.

It's Gold and Tosh you need to be aware of. I hardly even notice such things. ;D
-
I look at this as % earned, rather than % of actual work done. In my case I have made around 62% of my mean target earnings, but this is due to, not only the inclement weather, but also the fact that in my locality many customers don't require my services in January, so it is a quiet month anyway.

We're already about £300 up on last January's total and if the weather is OK we will achieve about another £300 by the end of the month.

Lightweight! You missed the bit in green which in my role as Detective Sgt. Gold of the Grammar Police, I feel compelled to highlight. It should of course read "... there are a couple of days ...".
But of course Chief Petty Officer Wayai-Banzai Toshimoto of the Japanese Imperial Grammar Police got in first. And he was pipped to the post by Feldwebel Chris P. Bakon of zer Nazi grammar Police.

wish i stayed where it never snows or rains or blows a gale force wind or never gets so cold i cant work :'( :'( :'(

Pretty bad January so far for me but not a disaster as such.
Plenty of work not done but that's probably has more to do with lack of enthusiasm and tons of rain/high winds/cold/snow this month mixed with a seemingly non stop raining and windy December after a raining and windy November after a raining and windy October, and so on back to April 2012.

I just feel silly now... :-[

I had work 23rd and 24th Dec and in between Xmas and New Year which couldn't get done because of the weather. Then the begining of January was busy until Friday the 18th. I didn't work 18th to 25th inclusive; I worked a full day the 26th and then i've been off yesterday and today is a total washout. Luckily because of the cancelled work before Xmas, and Xmas day and Boxing Day I had a few spare days in January, but all those are used cos of the snow. I'm currently 25% down on expected takings, but might pull it back to 15% if tomorrow and Thursday are workable.

I am a window cleaner, not an English teacher, what do you expect.
Instead of learning punctuation and spellings, in the comfort of my home, I have been at work in this cold horrible month, we call January.

You're from Essex, you hardly had a winter! ;D

Correct, I am from Essex. Compared to your dull, dark and damp part of England, Essex is like living in a sunny, tropical climate. ;D ;D ;D
