It's not the law till 2015. I am in the process of getting one set up now. It will cost around £1500 to set up.
-
not certain but i dont think its £1,500.00 to set up, unless you mean per year, how many staff would that be for, i will ask my advisor this week about set up costs,
-
i think the scheme works in that the employees contribute 3% of their earnings to the pension and the employers are to add a further 2% for small companies it wont come into effect till about 2015, all employees will be automatically enrolled on the scheme but they can as individuals opt out if they decide.
when i was discussing this with an advisor last year what shocked me was government could not find a uk pension company to manage all the funds in the uk and all money will be being sent to an indian firm ??? Call me skeptical but i bet that money is not there when people come to retire
-
Just a con by the goverment. All they are doing is making you save for years and hope you die before a chance to claim it then they get there hands on it . I will be lucky to retire the age will be 80 years old by that time. I think they are a bunch of thievs
-
And when you do collect your pention the goverment will pay out peanuts

You can get around this very simply by making your staff self employed.
The guys we have are self employed, makes our life very easy.
They are happy as we pay well and they also do their own work as long as they give us notice not to clash,
This has worked very well for us and them.

If you don't mind me asking how are your staff self employed?
There's been a few posts on this but my understanding is if they work mainly
for you, work with your van, equipment ect they are employed.
Hope I'm wrong as I would love to make my boys self employed ;D
Not sure they would love it ;D ;D
