They live in dream land don't they?

Oooh let's have nice white gutters; Ooooh I can see green on them not like the old painted ones; I expect the windy will do them for a tenner.

Dream on.

If you want maintenance free gutters that don't show the dirt get black or brown upvc like wot I have done!

If they wince at it then simply make up some quick figures like so, so you paid £3k for all your facias and gutters, im charging you x amount once a year and theyre kept nice and clean? makes sense doesnt it, if you leave it to long then they WILL stain and will never come back up looking as new so if the time comes to sell your house it doesnt look as appealing as it could of for the sake of x amount each year.

People get pvc facias thinking that they are maintenance free.
Then are shocked to find they need cleaned.
Even black or brown start to look dingy after a few years.
Still a lot cheaper than having to paint them every five years.

Make you laugh don't they?
I got asked to quote a large property for gutter cleaning back in autumn.
It's a large detached property with gutters all round (4 sides) and an extension on one side to navigate round plus a conservatory on another side. Well dodgy to do off of ladders.
Also absolutely full of leaves and pine needles!!
So I said "Well you will be looking at 3 figures (£100+)".
The bloke went a funny colour and nearly passed out!
Then said "My God! I think I will ask the old chap who did them last time, it's just that he makes a bit of a mess."
I didn't even bother asking what the "old chap" charges him.
Whatever it is it certainly aint enough!  ;D

In a former existence I was bespoke picture framer. The bane of my life was people who expected a one of 3 foot x 4 foot mount and frame for Ikea prices.... They would spend thousands on a piece of art and quibble over having the cost of having their art conserved properly...
That is where I learned to say "Thats my price If you dont like it get someone else"  9 times out of 10 they would just go for it... all they wanna do is negotiate a cheaper deal... This aint the Souk in Marrakech.... I never negotiate... except when its me thats doing the  buying.... lol ;D ;D ;D

Yep been there.

Few years ago while canvassing, got asked how much for a connie roof, under quoted it £40 it was bigger than average and green as grass.
Would ask £100 now doesn't matter though as never had then; and i'm sure it's still green now :D

When told the bloke the price he went quite for a mo then said "are you local?"

If people ask me now i tell em the price and ask them to ring me and i'l book it in for a saturday, they rarely do.

If their not my favourite custie of awkward job just tell em £50 glass cleaning brush and would be ruined on facia's.
It's easier in the long run, need too charge 1.5 - 2 time your window cleaning rate other wise it's not worth it.(imo)

I priced a 4 bed yesterday for upstairs only gutters in and out and fascias. Was my happily accepted price of £240 over the top? No, because he happily accepted it. Some customers would not see the value in the service, even if it was only a fiver.

Yep, had one ask me to "dust off" the gutters. Only quoted £40 as reckoned 1/2 hour job at most, but he expected it for free.
