aarrgghh,right slight problem

do you have a van.if so you could still buy a l5 heater, gas bottle, pump the water thru the heater and into a empty barrel and then install on to you trolley

put a heater in the back of the van mate and you ll have no problems.

i see this weather as a challenge instead of "i hate working in cold weather".its all about attitude and being organised with decent waterproof warm clothing.

since going wfp i find winter a breeze compared to trad(i was for 16 years!).

i use a cold system and it still allows me to work up to -2.any lower then i dont bother.its very rare its below -2 in the parts of the country where i work(manchester) in the day.

could install the L5 heater in the garage and fill the barrels up first thing in the morning, that way they can be nice and hot nearly all day for you!

not dangerous if wired up the right way using the right graded wire etc, other wise it could burn out the elcectrics and could set fire to van or house! or both!

ever used a gas bbq???
the gas just fits like that, then water pumped from the static tank through heater and out into barrels.

avo i just put an oil filled radiator in the back of my van via extension lead through my letterbox overnight!it cost me £45 two years ago.costs me around £1-50 in electric per night.van doors lock.no problem.

i bring my pumpbox and reel in overnight.everything else stays in the van.

well worth it IMO as it allows me to get a decent days work in the next day.

i guess what I mean by all these questions is drying times on glass aswell.. Something that won't freeze on glass or take the whole to dry.

Sometimes buy the time you finish the house the first window is dry, and not had any water freeze on the glass yet,

1 Kw aquarium heater works great i have my tank in the shed and it works great water is about 15-20 degrees in the morning , Need to insulate it so water gets up to about 40 degrees .

Might chuck a cheap water pump in to help circulate water which will evenly distribute heat . Mike

avo i see no need for a l5 heater and ive no plans to get one!ive had no problems with a cold system.i also dont like the fact its more things that could go wrong!i keep it simple and hassle free.

if it aint broke!dont fix it!right? ;D ;D ;D

no gas bottles in van,no extra costs, less hassle and i still get my work cleaned!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

happy days! ;D ;D ;D

wfp itself is a massive difference from trad...going hot  is only a incremental
difference from a cold system

if you can invent something that i can carry in vehicle to get rid
of  snow and ice instantly from side rds then i will be impressed :)

I am thinking of getting a L5 heater (where's the best/cheapest place guys?)

I will set mine up in garage to fill up warm barrels, got a ford escort not got loads of room :(

How do you guys using L5/gas heaters protect against thermal shock.
Was it 30c + outside temp (or is the posh way of saying 30c above ambient temp?)

Do you guys have some sort of thermometer to keep an eye on water temp?
Never a good time to crack a window but when it's barely above freezing point i can imagine custies getting excited :o

Best place in one of the UK selling shops got comeback if any problems

Cheapest place ebay. But could cost more if anything goes wrong.

Setting up in garage is fine.

Yer that's what they say, 30 above outside temp so if outside temp is 0 then hottest is 30.

No thermostat in place you can get a rough temp by feel.

Thanks Mike.
Trouble is my ro-setup ia at my parents garage.

I suppose i could set up and put heater on timer plug.
How much is 1KW an hour Mike 10p.

How long do you have your heater on for.

Just add: I fill up barrels from 625 ltr tank at my parents has submersible pump.
I have 16 barrels; last 2 days usually; I dont have garden but do have garage en-bloc about 50 yards away.
Reason for barrels is parents don't have off street parking.
Sorry to waffle on Mike.
I will look into that.

My dad helps with my system, but he and my mum are in there 60's and can be a bit funny at times.
Did have a bust up with em few yrs ago just before setting up my system ;D

So I do like to keep things simple at that end; "THEY FEAR CHANGE  :o"
