thinkin of buying a booster pump to produce pure water are they worth it whats everyone experience with them any good ones worth buying

I have one for a Merlin RO and it pretty much doubles the output.

It depends why you want it. If you are not producing enough water on tap pressure then yes they are, your product tds should also go down, in my case the booster pump has bought the tds after the ro low enough not to require resin, so it saves me money.

Been running a RO-man 40-40 for years. Current HF5 has been in there for at least 3 years fed from a Clarke booster pump. Producing enough water to supply 3 vans, previously supplying 7 so god knows how much pure it's produced over the years. Input 350-ish output 6-7. I put that down to the booster, auto flush and regular prefilter changes.

depends on your tap pressure of course ............ mines only 40psi so gotta have one

not too sure as its not me who sorts that out sure i remember it being about 40-50

are they easy to fit to ro i use normal hose on them system
could the booster pump be used on the waste pipe too thru a di vessel

You just put it after tap and before ro and Di

It got recommended on hear and is ment to be bullet proof

Ian, how does that auto-flush work exactly?
Hi Nick,
I have a custom made auto system - starts with a float switch in the IBC operated from a 12 volt battery. When the level drops the switch closes and activates a couple of 240v relays. One controls the main inlet solenoid valve so water starts to flow into the system. The other switches on the booster pump and the system starts to make pure water. I've run the booster power lead to a junction box and taken a spur off to an ordinary domestic 3-pin socket. In the socket is a 24 hour timer and then the plug of a second solenoid valve which opens the waste bypass when it's activated to allow all the water to flow to waste, thus flushing the membrane. The timer is set to operate once every 24 hrs for 15 minutes so the membrane is flushed for 15 minutes in every 24 hours of actual running time.
When the IBC is full the float switch opens and shuts off the relays so the machine stops.

sounds good system that ian need something like that myself i sick of overflowing ibcs etc and soaking wet floor
