Title: blazer gt truck mount problem
Post by: garybristow on January 23, 2013, 07:15:33 pm
can anyone help, used today when idling the engine revs itself, like when you rev a motorbike engine,it has stalled whilst idling
when on full revs it seems to work ok,plenty of juice but seems like petrol starvation

Gary,

Have you checked the fuel filter?
Also worth checking the fuel pump is working ok.

Gary

Need to put my thinking cap on this (I’m also a greaser/mod now skinhead never had that’s problem)

Good idea from Simon but first I would take off the air filter and see if it runs (tick over and full revs) it could be air starvation  ???

Air filter on the way out, check and clean or replace plugs, check fuel filter. Is there a diaphragm in the carbs, when they wear on motorbikes, you get the problem you mentioned.Check all the connection under the carbs, clean them, could be dirt on them and causing connection problems.could be a coil on its way out....
