got a job to price 30 odd storeys i think, am i right in think you just need to be trained on how to use craddle by maintenance company?
-
Pretty much, yeah.
In sure people will contradict but you only need to have a basic 'tool talk' with the person who ok's you to go in it.
There are loads if courses you could go on to learn but (as far as I'm aware) they are not a legal requirement.
We used to do a job exactly as described before getting certification.
If its a manual cradle-it's blooming tiring!
-
When I was cleaning early 80s you need jack slight to use cradle or bosom chair used to push them along .wornt take LNG get use in hour on cradle
-
Pretty much same as bumper says
Ronnie not much to learn tbh
It's not like it's going be a rope cradle
And you've got to be able to tie off properly
Most probably be electric , and defo not
A wind up manual one they were hard work !!
-
@Gav. That's the one I meant. Doing a job next week with a wind up one. We're knackared after that! And, it's only a small cradle and the fella I'm in it with has 5stone on me!
-
have you used them gav? if i showed you a pic would you be able to tell me rough time to complete?
-
Ronnie does your insurance cover you to use a cradle work?
we had one job which wasnt worth the extra insurance premiums for cradle work so gave it up,
was only saying just incase you need to put it in with your price, cheers

Yes Ron no probs
-
ronnie is the work to be done in single drops or can cradle be traversed to move sideways this can make a big difference to time a job will take, if it is electric it will probably have a manual freefall mechanism to get down if power is cut or another emergency occurs, if it doesnt you need to have a rescue plan in place, if you can send me pictures of building and possibly the cradle being used i will give you a few tips

hi trevor sorry for delay if you could call me 07713499074 it would be appreciated

Not sure on training but i am pretty certain the cradle and its runway does need to have a safety certificate.
