Ashley

Firstly! Welcome to the UK's Leading Forum.

OK what we have here is a little bit of science.  Rock Salt has been laid to make the floor less slippery but it leaves behind a thin white film of salt which in effect is slightly calcified (A little bit like a very thin layer of scale inside a kettle really) this film is partly preventing cleaning products from getting to the floor surface.

The simple answer to clean it off is to:

1.  Add a little diluted Aqua Mix Phosphoric Acid Substitute to a bucket of Hot water around 10:1 Ratio should do it! (You may need to make it a bit stronger if film is thick).
2.  Then wring the mop out so it is fairly dry and mop onto the surface and allow it to air dry.
3.  Now just clean the floor as normal with a high alkaline cleaner such as Aqua Mix Heavy Duty Tile & Grout Cleaner diluted 5:1 and allow to dwell for 10 minutes or so.
4.  Then thoroughly rinse and vacuum and Hey Presto!

The only Caveat I would add is to makew sure the floor is not acid sensitive!!!
