Yes, saves stressing on weeks like this.

Summer hols for me is 2 weeks in May and 1 week in August. Work to live not live to work. :)

No summer holidays? Even if it's just a week away I would like to retain that, otherwise you'd just live to work and not the other way around. I try and do as much as I can during the winter.

worked every weekend in the three months up to xmas

xmas paid for and most of jan..weather is normally the worst ;D
and customers really dont want to see you...august is my next
slowest month might take a week off then.

due to go back tomorrow but we are supposed to have a bit
more snow so might not bother :)

The good thing about window cleaning is that if you can't work for a few days the actual work doesn't disappear - you still have the money to earn...

If you then work maybe an extra hour a day for the next week you can catch up with work and money.

However this weather does obviously affect cash flow - I'll definitely be saving up a winter fund for next year!

i have an emergency fund built up all year round.its not just winter you have to think about.

what about if your injured or ill etc?

a few years ago i badly sprained my ankle playing football and i was on crutches for over 3 weeks.no work,no income.luckily i had my reserve to tide me over until i was back to work.

this month the weather hasnt really affected my income as i work at 80% capacity and i could still get this months work completed with no loss of earnings if we dont get any more heavy snow

in fact my earnings over winter the last few years havent been bad at all.still a wage i can live on quite comfortably.

i work in nearly all bad weather though unless its really heavy rain and strong winds and of course heavy snow!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
