Hi chaps
I know its a bit of a how long is a piece of string question but to you guys who work individually do any of you have 300 litre tanks and do you think it will last all day ?
-
300 is fine for me even on a longer day.

Yes.
But depends on how high a flow rate you use and how quickly you work.
As you said: piece of string sort of question ;D
-
well put it this way yes it should do so long as no 1st cleans and no big connies etc

I'm running a 350 litre tank in a kangoo i find on my busiest days i'll run out of water at 2 30 ish and have to run home for a top up which costs at least 40 mins time' this is slowing me down too much' so my next move when funds allow will be 650 tank in a hiace or something similar if your round is growing a 350 tank will probably hold you back, I do like to work with a high flow rate so less time on the glass.
-
i run a 400lt system from my van, and always go back home with water at the end of the day,
-
I've got 400L no flow controller it does me all day. If I had a few first cleans I might struggle.
-
I'd go for a 400 ltr anything less is running a risk of not finishing a decent days work

What darren said. I never ran Out when had 400 litres while on my own in 4 years.
-
400 litres is better as you can never fully empty a tank and will always have 50 litres or more until you start drawing air into system . Mike
-
I think flow rate is the answer here , i used to run 250 and a 175 linked up so 425 in total .
With these i worked a full day and went home with naff all left every day .
I had my flow set at 80.
I then took my second van off the road and had a 350 spare , i put this in my van with the 175 linked together which gave me 525 i then decided on a higher flow and upped the flow to 95 , i now work shorter days and earn the same and most weird of all never have to open up the 175 !

I use at leat 800 litres a day, so my next van is going to have to be big enough to carry a 1000ltr tank, as I hate running out of water!!
-
You must be using 12mm pole hose and hozelocks as your jets ;D ;D ;D

on your own? :o

I waste a lot of water over cleaning and 300 litres
would do me a day no problem.
On first cleans I manually clean the frames that saves water.

Yes, on my own! I have always used at least 800ltrs a day, I always use maximum flow rate, in fact I got rid of my varistream ages ago and just have the pump on its own, and I do work none stop from 9am through to at least 4.30 without a break, apart from driving between jobs. I don't know how you guys manage on 300ltrs!!
-
I use 1mm jets which are exactly 1mm and can have a powerful rinse with lower flow rate , I usually have varistream set at 22 , But in freezing temps it is up to 28-29 . Mike

how many houses? a day
-
I use 350 but I also got a couple of 25 litre barrels just in case.
I have never run out :)
-
How many houses are people doing on 3 or 400 a day?
-
I ran a 400 as a one man. If working a long day I'd put a 25L barrel in the van.
Usually lasted but not always.
-
i would say no if you wfp most work.i have a 350L tank and it usually lasts me but i have 2 barrels as well some days so i have 400L.
I use a very high flow rate as well.you can work incredibly fast on maintenance cleans.
if your trying to scrimp on water with a lowish flow rate your going to be a lot slower which defeats the object of going wfp in the first place.

Generally about 12-15 large houses a day, but I have a housing estate that I do, and have managed 45 small and medium size houses in one day before.
-
only time i ever used 350ltr was when i did a 9h day apart from that i reackon 250 is average if you wfp everything & dont waste your water
-
My 350 tank lasts me from 830 till about half 2 or 3 enough for the winter but not for a summers day!
-
i also have a 350l tank and it does me fine, i came close to emptying it the other day but by then my arms were knackered and i'd had enough,
for houses yes but commercial no, my new van im going to fit a 600l tank in it but only because i do a few commercial jobs where i need extra water
