Title: what everyones contingency plans this week
Post by: richywilts on January 21, 2013, 11:28:58 am
tried a few domestics today and some parts of hosereels were freezing up, luckily had a few commercials we have brought forward from tuesday to carry out today

had to fit new glow plugs in the combo this morning as well £48!!!

not best start but worrying now for the week ahead may look at getting hot systems fitted midweek

can carry on canvassing and leafletting but not really ideal when no money coming in

Mine's to sit with my feet up and watch the episodes of Top Gear I recorded knowing a week like this would come at some point in the winter.

My plan is to work like normal with one tweak. Keep the water flowing the whole time. In between jobs we will turn the flow nearly all the way down but have water from the brush heads going into buckets. The water in the hoses will not freeze on the ground if the water is flowing.
I bet I will do my weeks money despite the cold.

The above is a great tip, feel free to send me a donation, each one of you that still earns his money each day!  ;) ;D

I'm not working till the snow goes
It's not worth risking my van for a few  ton

So feet up, and walk down to my local for some
Dinner with the family
Chuck a few snow balls the back home
To put my feet back up

Happy days  8)

Sort out 0800 free phone number
Write an ad for job centre for self emp canvasser

Luckily we have just been asked to do a large builders clean which is going to take around 3 days for 3 people, so I've set some of the window cleaning lads away on that this morning, hopefully all the snow and sleet has just about gone by then.

after a casual shoe chat with a bloke in Russia.

Funnily enough, I haven't had many of those, lately. I must be doing something wrong.
I'll do some ironing instead.

just finished now in south manchester.  its been snowing on and off but its no different from rain.  has even less of an impact if you ask me.  the only excuse is if youre working in rural areas, the main roads are fine
