Andy

Since i did that it has help my site.

Last week i had two jobs in Upchurch and both customers found me searching carpet cleaners in Upchurch so it must off worked. The middle part of website i just put a pointer to go to my home page.

I had a web guy build my last site www.carpet-2-clean.co.uk which cost me 260 pound and it only got work (seen) in the Medway towns (very poor),and every time i had a price (offers) change he would charge me 25 pound plus vat to change it.

So that`s why i got this site so i can do it my self.

www.carpet2clean.com is my very old website (Mr Site one) which i built years ago.

If you like give me a call.

Richard

I looked at them websites at Currys and was going to get one untill i see 1&1 websites on the tv,so i had a free months trial and found it very easy to use, you just click and drop in to place.

Next month i`am building one for a mate.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all! If I had a minor observation, I may say the fonts look a tad "dated", but otherwise bravo sir!

Andy, when I open you website I thinks an overload of information there is just too much to take in so its all lost in the confusion..... there's quote, special offers, logos, pictures etc

i'm going to change my home page as i think its a little bit the same.

I want the first thing they see as the click on my website is a 'visual handshake' if you were meeting someone for the first time you wouldn't shake their hand then......

SHOUT.... MY NAME HENRY I CLEAN CARPET AND UPHOLSTERY I WILL CLEAN 2 ROOMS FOR £50 I WILL REMOVE SMELLS I HAVE SOME QUOTES FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS SAYING WHAT A GOOD JOB I DID

you would smile, shake hands and say hello. a simple pleasant introduction,

I'm starting to think a home page should above the crease be the same, a gentle simple introduction to create a feeling of trust then they can scroll down and start reading everything else.

i'm getting some pro photos done of me and my son, and my home page is just going to be a close up picture  of us both and a personel message say "welcome to our website we hope you find it helpful" signed: Henry & Michael

when they arrive on my site that is all they will see, us & a short personel message

As usual Mike Halliday hits the nail on the head. Can't think of anyone else that gives such good marketing advice on here.

Also get the feeling that 90% of it is ignored! Odd.

Why don't you test the two approaches and see which one works the best? At least that way you would have some meaningful data to work with.

A few years ago someone showed me some test results from a site with three versions of a squeeze page (rotated). Two converted around 4% and one converted at nearly 22%!).
