Title: taski handle
Post by: gwrightson on January 18, 2013, 04:31:02 pm
do any of you guys have any idea what could be wrong ?

I have a taski ranger  rotory, the problem is thew handle will not move from the upright position when the lever  is pulled, was working fine earlier this week ::),  I heard a bit  pf a rattle in top handle so decided to take a look inside , sure enough a ball bearing fell out , not sure if this has any thing to do with it as the lever does still appear to be moving the mechanism.
Any ideas please !!

Geoff

Geoff its a safety feature ( stupid one at that) I did not know Taski did that ,i thought it was just Numatics. Just open it up and slot the bearing back in place, then it will be good to go

The ball bearing stops you from pulling operating handle when in upright position.
Look inside at operating handle,
Along the handle there is a small flat edge which lines up with a square gap
with a sloping edge like a small ramp shape.
Ball bearing goes inside there.
If its in right place, it will stop handle being pulled whilst upright.
When you tilt back, ball will roll out and handle will pull easily.
If ball is a bit rusty it sometimes gets stuck in there.
WD40 & small wire brush or bit of sandpaper fixes it.
Tim.

I think when I had this trouble it was I'd unscrewed the wrong side. Put the other side of the handle on and put your bb and handle in, then offer up the enclosure and screw down.

Just lay it flat on the ground when you do it up.
The thing about it not tilting back is caused at the bottom end of the arm.
You will need to take the arm off by undoing the 2 bolts at the bottom on 1 side of machine.
There is a spring loaded bolt inside the bottom with teeth
which engages and disengages when you pull handle.
This is not disengaging, so you need to have a look there.
