Ive been asked to clean 13 individual carpets that are in a Hindu community centre, each carpet is 13x10 feet.
Im struggling to come up with a price to be honest,so Im thinking of just quoting on time involved.
They are not badly soiled, just need freshening up.Will be HWE.
Im thinking about half an hour per carpet after initial setting up,does this seem reasonable?
Never been asked to do anything like this before.

If you think it will take 30 mins per carpet then you need to price it for 45 minutes, they will then either take your price or not. If they do.... you are covered for any "surprises" if not then someone else can have the hassle.
Just my thoughts on it Wayne

Wayne,
What is your usual price for residential per sq. I would go with that as you say its not heavily soiled.
Maybe add a bit more on as you will need to go from carpet to carpet.

Wayne,
13x10 ft x13 so around 185 sq yds , i cant see you taking half an hour a carpet really, just prepare a number of the carpets at once then clean .
put another way charge your price what you would normally charge per sq yd bearing in mind they sound as if their would ne no furniture etc to to take into consideration.

I'd charge for an easy full day and if you do it by 1pm then so be it, if you finsh by 4 pm then at least you've got a days wage.
hope this helps.

I agree you probably will take most of the day anyway and it stops you going on to another job.

Tell them £15 per carpet...£195.
It's a very easy days work as Derek said.
Would imagine even steady away 5 hours.
9.30 till 2.30, on the road after school kids
and back home before school out luverly.

How much furniture is there? Usually there are plenty of chairs etc so that may need to be taken into account.

Thanks for all the replies - I'm tempted to go in with what John said at £15/£195.
I cleaned their temple carpet in November and viewed all the individual carpets then, they are basically large rugs laid out on the floor in a large hall and even have some on a stage area.
They got back to me last night asking for a price.

Wayne do they take your first price or do you have to up it to then lower to the price you want?

The last job I did for them they accepted my initial price, but i know what you mean ;D

Tell them usually you would charge £20 per carpet which would be £260 but as i'm nice and there all at once and iv'e worked for you before (make sure they remember that) i'l do the lot for £200 thats £60 discount for returning customer they will accept your price because they have trusted you before and wouldn't really want anyone else if they was happy with you. :)

Just called them and theyve accepted £195 -thanks again for all your input.
