Who was it who made a double of you??. Was well funny.

It was me Mick.
Ian, next time try a little humour; you take it all to seriously.
Dont worry I now know you dont want someone to have a little laugh as your user name, I was unaware we wern't allowed to use your old username, no-one explained that to me.
It is obvious now though that you are a bit of a t!t. I would have taken it as a compliment personally. Hey ho.

DIY L5 water heater. Setting up cost £170. Daily running cost £1.20
Insurance told but didn't cost extra.

i tested them from around a month just dropping them through the lid.
they are fully waterproof and drilled an 8mm hole in the top of the tank for the cable then sealed with silicone
the heater is 1 inch from the bottom of the tank. i have twin 500 ltr tanks so 1 in each.

Prices are easy enough to find
http://www.purefreedom.co.uk/pure-freedom-isothermal-diesel-water-heater-p-297.html
I had a look at this one when I was up there - very nice. I didn't have the money at the time nor did I realise how expensive replacement burners could be on Webasto heaters. I think the Ionics version works on the same principle but is less versatile.
Concept2o gas system £1.50 a day so they say, don't know the initial price, probably only fit to their systems

What we really need is a revue on some of these water heaters as there is so many cheap bad quality ones. Mind you it woukd be a waste of time cause people only red what they want to believe.

ran out of gas today and had to clean one house without it. Oh my god! cold water is like something from the stone age!

its not good when that happens!
-
cold system here.worked 1030am-330pm.it was hovering around -1 to 0 degrees.no problems apart from the odd frozen window sill which i soon sorted with a bit of extra scrubbing.
hands were nice and warm and dry as i had my glacier "perfect curve" gloves on with liners underneath! ;D ;D ;D ;D
thermobore hose also is still fairly managable at these temperatures even though i use a cold system.
