For all those who've used a steamer, can you use it safely on tarmac?
Its just your standard chewing gum removal steamer with the wire brushes. I know heat can damage the tarmac, so just needing to see if the steamer, being a quick scrub with the brush, will do the same kind of damage as a hotbox and pressure?
Cheers,
Matt

you are ok using steamers on tarmac but it is a much slower job than you may think

Can cause damage with a steamer in my opinion, we have and stopped doing it.

I have done it before, on monoblock.. just wondering about tarmac..
Thanks guys.. I think ill do a little test first..
Can you use standard degreasers on tarmac?
Im under the impression most decent gum removal chems have solvents in them?
Lee, i know you use that certain degreaser for your gum sometimes, would that be safe on tarmac or is it solvent based?

i would agree if it is very warm and a poor qaulity tarmac then it would be possible to damage, also if you try to go too quick by removing gum due to too much pressure on the wire brush instead of letting the steam do most the work, but as you say do a test first
