As I understand it,
Is ''nipping'' the pole hose getting it between finger and thumb and squeezing it to stop flow? If so I haven't got the strength to do it.
I ''bend'' the pole hose back on itself to form a ''kink'' to stop the flow.
Do you nip or bend? If it's not too personal a question.

kink hose. but to be honest get a aquadapter best bit of kit in and saves water

I bend the hose, but this method doesn't work with all pole hose. The yellow stuff Gardiner's used to supply didn't cut the flow when you bend it, but the hose I got with my aquadapter's did.
I didn't get on with my aquadapters; I sold them on; but kept the hose which I think is class.

Kink.
No aquadapter and hose outside the pole.
After a while, it becomes a very easy and simple habit.
I now cannot understand why anyone would want the hose inside the pole and why anyone has that extra weight on the end of the pole. The same goes for a flow controller. Why have one?

Does it not make the hose split over time doing this as I find were my hose kinks on its own splits after some time

There's got to be many different brands of hose out there, but it's never happened with the pole hose I've used. I use the stuff aquadapter sell.

Trouble with Aquadapter's is they are addictive. After using one for a month nothing else spread's the peanut butter better. Then you need to buy more for your not used much poles cos you are addicted to them.
