just had 10.000 fully re-designed and added my new pressure cleaning service, obviously with the weather been as bad as it is, now is probley not a good time to leaflet? when do you think i should be out their dropping the leaflets.
at the moment i am just using the standard lance for cleaning, would it be worth while me buying the FSC as i have heard mixed reports?.
also how do i know wich turbo nozzle will fit wich pressure washer, i currently have a honda gcv 160, 2.3 gallons per minute wich seemed to do the job last year but would make it easier with a turbo nozzle.
thanks adam

Get out there and start posting them .... great time .. especially with all the snow around

If your running at about 200 bar @ 10.3 ltrs/min then you'll need a 035. Forget a fsc with that machine and just buy yourself a turbo. You could just read the size from your existing nozzle
-
re leaflets: Doesn't really matter when you deliver them, chances are they might remember you if its snowing.they'll still only ring you spring summer and most will get binned instantly.Give good thought to your leaflet, unless your good buddy owns a printing business .Offer a deal. How much 10000 cost these days anyway.
-
thanks for the replys ! and my best mate owns signs express durham, he re-designed my leaflet 3 colours, front and back, half A4 size 10,000 and hes doing them mates rates for £265
-
I pay £250 for 30,000 some mate he is ;)
Print carrier are the cheapest place to get leaflets, search google for them
-
yeh but i bet your not getting design costs for free... i basicly gave him the ideas and he designed everything!
-
I've just agreed for 10 000, double sided, colour with photos, designed for £190.00
Rob ;D
-
Go on ebay, find the cheapest flyer printers, usually about 62 quid for 5000 A5 double sided gloss colour, then look on ebay again for leaflet design, usually about 10 each side by some whizzkid designer doing leaflets instead of homework or bedroom warrior. he emails you the design, you forward it on to your printer... jobs a good en..

Evening lee
Are you keeping busy?
I've just remembered I have had them done on 170gram paper, quite thick so I expected to pay more. They are like a thin card.
Rob ;D
-
hi Rob, I'm quite busy at the minute yes, doing ok, hows you mate? to be honest you have a good price there, with the bonus of getting it all from one place, no messing around, mine are only 130gsm and I can be a tight t@@t at times so don't mind the messing about. mine are about the same thickness as a rizla paper haha ;D
-
Your never short of a spliff paper there Lee ;D :o ;D

Someone posted details for a design guy on here. I emailed him and he designed me a fantastic flyer colour both sides for £24.99. If anyone wants his email let me know.
I ordered 30,000 a few week back for £99.00 of flyer zone and delivered 300+ last Wednesday because I had the afternoon off, i've hired someone to do it now!!

Lol, we were discussing differences in prices relate to the thickness of the flyer, robs were like cardboard at £200, I said mine were like rizla papers at £140, so yours must bge transparent at £99, just a joke mate ;D

Yea that one went way over my head. They are 150g, good quality. Check out flyer zone regular they always have offers on and it's a great service and quick delivery. From what I've read anyway the quality of leaflet matters a lot less than the content. Mike Halliday and Allan Simmons off the carpet cleaning forum have success with leaflets but they put out 1000's on a regular basis to the same area.
I did 300 + to an upmarket area last week, large 4/5 bed houses with big gardens and drives, I'm planning on hitting this area with the same leaflet every four week until the end of summer to see if I get a response.
Rob are your flyers for commercial or domestic?
-
This one is a commercial leaflet. It will have a business card stapled to the corner.

Hi Neil
I would be interested in getting that guys email off you.
Cheers :)

We are getting out about 4000 leaflets a week out for pressure-washing which is a little less than normal.
We employ our own part time leaflet deliver who works 3 hours a day and we have 2 guys who do 3 hours each on a sat & sun. If you want success with leaflets you need this sort of numbers
-
Mike
As a percentage split against the carpet cleaning side of your business how does it stack up.
Do you post two leaflets together or a week on the pressure washing & a week on the carpet cleaning?
Rob ;D
-
They are a DL size, ( complement slip size) carpet cleaning on one side pressure washing the other.
Although the last 2 weeks I have been using a double sided pressurewashing leaflet going out solus, it has been working fantastic

I always see now as the sweet spot for getting the work in on the domestic.
The winter is definitely over, people are starting to look at the garden and may be getting back into it and they can see properly how green everything has gotten around their homes.
We are going to be stacked this year - different market but I don't see any excuse for people to say they can't get the work in.
I have just had 10 000 commercial leaflets done, picked them up tonight, good quality, good images but specific on chewing gum & graffiti removal.
Looking forward to tramping about the stores with them.
If they know about you - they will call.
Good to see some positive Mike ;)

Is that how you get commercial work aswell giving leaflets? Or do you address them to facilities manager? I have never tried leafleting commercial I always email/phone them, hense why I rarely get calls haha
-
There's a game plan going on here.
Never leafleted commercial either but there is going to be more than one angle, they will be leafleted around where we have works going on, sent out to possible clients with a cover letter and or portfolios, anywhere that may want the service.
Rob ;D
-
no game plan! Just never thought about different ways but I think I like your idea! Might steal it now haha!
-
I think you misread that - I have a game plan going on!!
You can nick the idea, mine have things like 'Having worked on the Olympic Park' and 'with ongoing works for major supermarkets' on them. That gives them a little clout. The leaflet has been thought out and is very good. Visual.
Get the leaflet right.
At a minimum for me people may read the leaflet and get on the website and increase the traffic, a bonus will be any work gained from them ;)

Mmmm well I'm still small time and haven't got any "on going work" haha ile stick to been a poverty drive cleaner ::)roll

From small acorns grow large Oaks!!!
We all have to start somewhere, I really never cleaned any domestics - we were all window cleaning then and when I priced up pressure washing I was always too expensive!!
Just got another two stores to price up next month ;D
I never saw my life being like this twelve years ago and I am only just scratching the surface!!
I started my window cleaning round hoping to make £12.00 per hour (I was on £6.00 per hour at work).
Whatever you do achieve, never take it for granted.
