Title: Freezing weather!!!
Post by: Mr Sparkle on January 15, 2013, 07:45:04 pm
How you guys getting on with this freezing weather?
I use 25litre barrels and keep them stored in the garden, However am finding i'm only able to work a few hours each day with this weather as the barrels are frozen and taking till at least lunch time to thaw.
Promised freezing temperature for another couple of weeks  :( :( :(

Get 1 KW aquarium heater and heat water in static tank overnight then fill up in the morning and throw a winter duvet over the containers while out at work .

Water should get up to 20-30 degrees depending where your static tank is under cover or not . Mike

i bring my pumpbox and reel inside overnight and stick an oil filled radiator in back of van.

van nice and warm in the morning,no ice on my windscreen.

start a bit later, keep water running and i take salt, grit and a sweeping brush with me to get rid of any standing water on pathways etc.

i also take a spare flask of hot water just in case my jets freeze up!! ;D ;D ;D

Yep, I'm well organized, have a heated system and pride myself in rarely missing days (Mon-Sat) due to severe weather. But 2010 was one to remember and quite a challenge  :)

Also cover my static tank and used fish tank heater.
