Hi guys.
If you climb over gates have you any tips to make it easier?
I split my ladder in two sections and put either side, not the lightest ladder though nested 2 piece I think 13 rungs (each section) en131 jobbie.
I am wfp.
was thinking of getting smaller lighter ladder?
Do any of you lot use little giant or telescopic ladder for getting over the gates?
If little giant, and set as step ladder, this shape ^ it must be quite tall in this position as a lot of gates 7ft high.
Any advice from little giant ladder users appreciated.
If anyone using a telescopic ladder then are you using 2, one either side of gate?
Or can anyone reccommend a small double ladder big enough and light enough for getting over the gates.
Thanks Lee.
P.s. expecting snow late morning here in waltham abbey :'(
Hope it's the same as the bit we had befor crimbo, gone in a day :D

I never let a gate beat me, I have never needed a ladder even with 7ft+ gates, just jump up grip the top pull myself up and over! When I can't do that, I will know that I am too old!! :)
-
A frame ladder for me
Feels safer than off a normal ladder

if I tried doing that I recon I would pull half of the gates down with it :)
Little a frame does its job

As stated in the countryside code, always climb over a gate on the hinged end where it is strongest! Your either a city boy, or over weight Mr Wicks!!! ;D ;)

You lot must look so professional jumping at gates, climbing up wheely bins and risking your neck just to avoid telling your customers that youre coming.

i use my 8ft single pointer for the odd gate and sometimes i use my double trade ladders either side like you lee.luckily for me there are very few gates i need to get over.some i text the night before, others open the gate while im cleaning.
most i can reach over and unlock the bolt, sometimes i knock them with my T mop or squeegee if they are in the middle of the gate! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D
most days i dont have a gate i need to get over!! :D :D :D
happy days!

I dont climb over gates but as from now on if gates are not open as arranged i will charge custy 75% of total price ,
That said i only have 1 or 2 and one of the custys sometimes sends me a text to say sorry if she has gone to work and forgot about gate which i dont mind as she is ok . Mike

I do text night before and they still forget!
Also i find texting limits your day i.e: some days i get more done then others so I feel texting can create unnesscary stress.
Also examining weather forecasts trying to work out how many texts to send trying to predict how the weather will limit your day or not :'(
If it's easy and safe to use a ladder to get over i would rather go that route.
Also text messages act as a warning to some customers and they see the text as you asking permisson to clean their windows.

here you go Cleancare ;D
i do text customers the night before to open their gates, but this is handy for those that forget.
it will span a 6 ft gate, you can get larger ones, but this fitted nicely in my van.

steve did you know there has been a few law suits in the states about little giant ladders i think there is all so a youtube/blog on it showing how dangerous the ladders are when fully extended and used as a vertical ladder rather than an A frame stile
