We use both machines. It will really depend on the type of work you do as to which will suit you.

The Cimex is by far the heavyweight of the 2.
It needs ramps for loading (safely) where the Orbot folds in half nicely making it slightly easier to manage.

I wouldnt use a Cimex in someones home but have with great results used the Orbot.

The Cimex can shampoo rugs the Orbot isnt quite as good.

The Orbot is the faster of the 2 for carpet maintenance work (cleaning clean carpet) and the sprayers allow for more economical chemical use.

The Cimex can handle heavier soiling if your commercials are more one of cleans not done for years or done annually where it is more corrective to salvage cleaning than maintenance due to its out and out scrubbing action.

The Orbot can also handle heavy soil with an Agiclean pad fitted and remove soil by switching to a bonnet if required/desired.

The Orbot has the edge when it comes to floor scrubbing.
The weight kit and brush give it the edge on tile/grout.
It can also take pads and uses them a little better than the Cimex.
I am currently working on a weight kit for the CR48 but need to test it further to make sure the motor can take the load on all floor/pad combination.

I am still not sold on the Orbot marble polishing capability but a little further testing may prove me wrong. For this I am comparing it to the HD varient of the cimex and other planetary grinders which with resin diamonds and full weights I feel gives much better results. For light stone cleaning and polishing it works okay its just not a restoration machine (yet).

So the answer is if you do all of the above types of work buy both.  ;D

One thing is for sure. Both machines are lightyears ahead in productivity from a single disc rotary machine.

If you can get to Edinburgh I can let you try them side by side on a live site.

It works really well Doug. The Akwastrip pads are essentially the same as the 3M SPP pads for chem free stripping. They remove 1-2 coats per pass with the weights on.
