About 12 months ago I turned up for a job to basically be turned away by the woman because she was too busy, although the husband had booked it after I had been around there to quote. Like you do you keep a mental note of these types and wait.

Today it happened
.

From the moment the phonecall came in the bells were ringing due to the attitude, finally backed up when the address was given. 8)
My wife went around to quote fully fired up. The place is a tip with the carpets in a right mess after the clear DIY attempts. :o
Anyway, it turns out they have the place on the market with viewing booked for Tuesday, so we waited till well gone 6pm before e-mailing the quote for this tiny place with a nice price of £180.... oh and we can't do anything until Tuesday ;D
Made us feel better anyhow ;D

Should have quoted really cheap and booked them in for Monday afternoon.
Still got your wheels!
-
I had a woman moan so much I gave her the money back.
18 months later she booked again so I charged her double. ;D
-
Gary, I know mate, seriously I will get down to you soon...ish
TBH it did go through my mind to quote cheap enough to get it and just not turn up, but that would have been seriously unprofessional. This way I get all the smiles whilst she is blissfully unaware.

Nice one Neil, ;D I just hope she never had any other carpet cleaners in the picture so she was left high and dry.
Was she waiting on your quote?
-
Was she waiting on your quote?
Yes by all accounts ;D
Even though my wife asked all the questions in such a way that we knew about the property, the dingbat was totally oblivious. :o
-
I would have definitely done what Gary suggested
Sometimes your soul needs a bit of loving too

I would say nearly all troublesome customers (not that i have many) are women...

I would say nearly all troublesome customers humans are women...
Fixed.

Agree Russ.
Also this is very common in women, it's not sexist but a fact, worth having a read as I bet you at some point you have known a women with this; (borderline personality disorder) reasoning with them is impossible as it's pure emotion not logic.

Usually it is the male species that take us there..... :P

We are only trying to protect ourselves... ;D

If i could manage a woman only carpet cleaning business i would literately "clean up" i think female customers would more likely to book a woman carpet cleaner than a guy... like Molly Maid...

Well bug.ger me, she's only come back and said "Ok can you do it Tuesday morning" :o
I really hope that if she's got any ideas of cancelling on the day that she has read the quote, because there's a 50% charge which she has in effect agreed to by arranging the job.
It's just a case now of how do I drag this out for 2 hours to somewhat justify the cost!
-
Neil why should you mate be even sweeter £180 for an hour or so Nice One 8) 8)

why bother trying, you might as well just give in and accept it :)

All he did was position himself (this time) as some one whose time is valuable. Which you should do all the time.

do you not think she will remember you once you turn up neil?
oh and to justify the high price tag! easy, just tell her its cos a lot of dingbats cancel on us on the day so we have to charge to cover this. ;D
-
Neil, now you know what sort of prices you can charge now ;), Wayne has a good point.
-
Oh and just doit in your normal time scale ( guess an hour), they are paying for a job done not price based on time.
