Any of you chaps advertise in those A5 local glossy mag things that go around the communities etc..

If so whats do you think of them? and what size ad have you used?

just over 5000 houses / businesses every month

3 month 1/2 page ad £140 ish total (that without haggling at the mo)..

Thanks
paul

I've been in our Parish mag for over a year now; the only window cleaner in there; guess how many phone calls I've had from it?

Nil!

Happy with the coverage and area

overall cost is ok (£140) i think tbh...

1/2 page ad = A6 size

15k coverage

a6 15k leaflets = approx £90 ??? plus Distibution cost even at say £15 per 1K.. = £225

so total leaflet price =  £315

May take a punt in the mag as only window cleaner in there..

Would you ?

ive done a few parish mags, and at this moment in time iam in two of them.one has brought in over £200 worth of work a month over the 3years it been in there, the cost of the two are £60 and £80

also iam in a are local free weekly mag which goes out to over 6000 home every month.i have a match box size add in there and this cost £16 a month, iam the only windy in there
in this weekly mag i done a full page company profile with ad in which was a cost of £140 and got the other ad free.had a good return back on that. being the first job i picked up was a upvc clean and con roof at £150 that paid for the ad,also i pick up 12 new house and got two more to quote

Great ad btw mate

Same kind of mag

I'm not into the conny / gutter cleans and that as extras ...

think i'll go with it over the 3 months if i get 10 new custys say it'll cover the cost after 1 clean

Nice add frank dont have a glossy mag like that were i live but have been considering local community publication as just moved recently and their is not really any decent window cleaners in this area .

Cheaper than flyers for me at the minute fairly skint due to renovating house .

Go for it Paul it might work better than flyers more so if you can do something similar to what Frank has done you could do it for the windows and carpet cleaning good luck mate .  Mike

I use 3 local mags
1 community and 2 church
Costs 70 quid for the 2 church monthly and 130 for the community quarterly for the year together with shop window advertising and leaflet drops has produced all my work

I got 6 customers from the mags starting from last sept  equating to 60 quid every 4 weeks so it is worthwhile for me as long as thoes customers stay for a while
The shop window adverts which I do 12 locals per month which is £15 has returned twice that for very little outlay
The leaflets are hit and miss I drop around 1000 week usually get a couple of jobs a month from them
