Title: Job Lead - Durham With Pictures

I have a lead for a job in Durham.  Only apply if you are experienced in Grinding, Honing and polishing Marble.  This job is cappuccino marble 82M2 with up to 4mm of lippage.  I estimate probably 4-5 days including sealing it twice.

This just goes to show that either everyone who could do this is stacked out with work or the someone needs to train in the Durham area

Do they have a timescale? I might have save in Feb to send guys down.

I can do it late Feb early March it's just they would like it done before. To be fair it is pretty close to one of the worst I have ever seen. I will try and get Tony to upload some photos later.

Lippage what an understatement

He threw the tiler off the job and wouldn't even let him grout!!!  Are you surprised???

Idiot tiled to the edges of the walls so no expansion joints!!!

They are going to crack regardless

Rip out and start again...Dot & Dab fixed i would expect. Can the job be salvaged?

He has had a couple of quotes both round £8K. Problem is that it's in three rooms laid with thermal boards and underfloor heating. So as you know what's involved.

Tiles up and scrap
Underfloor heating up
Boards up
Self Level
New Boards
New U/F heating
New Tiles
Grout & Seal

I have warned him that  I cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear but  grinding flood grouting, honing, polishing and sealing is still a cheaper and much less messy option.
