Title: stupid question time
Post by: derek west on January 05, 2013, 04:19:10 pm
cleaning 2 rugs a week on wednesday, they have another rug, 100% jute, its had spill after spill on it and obviously its got browning issues because of it, stupid question is, if i spray it with browning prescription, would it improve it or have no effect what so ever.

anyone have any other ideas i could try?

told them i couldn't clean it so they said they would bin it so i said, in that case i'll have a go. don't worry, good customers so won't try and pull a fast one.

they said i could have it if they have to replace it so may take it along to a training day for some trial and error fun. ;D

Buy them a new, identical one, and tell them it came up lovely  :)

You could always give it one big stain over the whole rug, so they wont see the little ones. David

I did one once. Took out the stain with sod mets. This left a big light patch. I then sprayed that with water and dabbed it with a tea bag. Took a couple of attempts letting it dry out to get the right shade. Worked amazingly well.

I also have a customer with sisal throughout the whole ground floor of her house. She uses vanish oxi on stains then pours coca cola on it to recolour.
